We are flying in to Houston and picking up a new car in the morning. Then we will be driving back to KS. If there was one place you could eat, where would it be?

People here love all of the Pappasita's restaurants. There are many of them. They have Mexican and sea food. If you google them, you'll find locations.

What part of Houston? What time do you want to be out of town?
There is a great steak house on the southwest part of town called Taste of Texas. It is pricey but delicious. They do not open until 3pm though.

Taste of Texas is good suggestion--we like to take out of towners there, and we live fairly close to it. But the waits on Friday nights can be monstrous and they don't take reservations.

What part of town are you picking the car up in? The Houston area is huge and there is good food all over.

We are actually picking it up in Stafford, but flying into Houston.

Texas Direct Auto--I'll bet? We bought our car from there a few years ago.

As for food, you can't go wrong with Pappas (Pappadeux--seafood or Pappacito's Mexican) restaurants. Rudy's BBQ is good if you like meat--nothing to eat but meat for the most part. Five Guys for a quick burger and Fries.

Good luck getting your car. The place is huge and TONS of people all over the place there.

There is lots of great food in Houston!

If you want something quick where you can also enjoy Herman Park, check out Torchy's Tacos in the Village.

You also can't go wrong with Pappas, although I prefer Pappas Seafood.

Taste of Texas has an awesome salad and soup option (the salad bar is amazing), but like other posters say, it is not close to the airport.

Are you flying out of Hobby or IAH? There are not many restaurants near Hobby, so you will definitely want to stop somewhere before you get there.

Ummm yep! Didnt end up quite like we had planned.........flew into Bush Intercontinental Friday night (arrived 10:30ish) The shuttle to Texas Direct was at the hotel at 10AM to pick us up. We figured we would be out of there by noon and grab something to eat and on our way home. We were there til 7pm because we had found that the sunroof leaked and it took them all day to fix it........needless to say, we ate lunch at the dealership & ate Taco Bell long after leaving.
