Housekeeping coming back?

Best of luck, but there's an identical thread going on with people experiencing the exact same thing at Portofino Bay.

This isn't a "Disney responding to the pandemic poorly" thing, this is just "pandemics suck and ruin everything."

You misunderstand me, so perhaps I didn't write my post clearly. Sorry.

In the past, I accepted the gift card in exchange for reduced housekeeping. I don't want or need someone to make my bed every day. But, I do still need someone to take the trash, replace the towels, and restore stocks of other essential goods (e.g. toilet paper) every few days. I do need someone who will change vomit-covered sheets when I ask them to. I do need someone that will clean up very visible mold in the bathroom.

So, this isn't just about a lack of employees. It's about the current employees not being held to the standards that I expect from Disney.

So I take it that WDW does not have daily housekeeping as it was pre pandemic?

They did unless you were staying DVC. If you were not on DVC then they did have daily housekeeping with turndown service for Club Level guests in the evening.

With all due respect, you don't have any idea what you're talking about.

Between the two of them, WDW and UOR employ about 100,000 people in like a 10 mile radius. I don't give a rip that the Holiday Inn Express outside of Greensboro, North Carolina is able to reach full employment for their 6 housekeeping positions. Disney and Universal are hiring *thousands* of people in the same industry in a single city. They've both held multiple job fairs, they've increased wages across the board, and they're offering signing bonuses to new employees. They're *desperately* trying to staff up.
Hey, hey, hey! Let's not besmirch the good folks at Holiday Inn Express GSO. I kid, of course - it's just one of the places I stay when I visit my family and thought it was funny to see you mention it.

I stayed at PBH last month. Daily light housekeeping. Bed made. Trash out
Towels refreshed. Shampoo, coffee... replaced as needed. You can text if you need anything

A few posters had some issues. People with issues are more likely to post. PBH is at least attempting to offer service

So I guess I am packing wipes to wipe down my toilet every now and then? I have kids. Boys. No matter what, they just aren't as tidy as I'd like them to be. Staying in a Deluxe resort so this is disappointing.
Women always think they are cleaner but they never look at the underside of seat! pirate:
