Household Vortexes - Which One Do You Have?

But the real question in my house would be....Do you still have the airconditioner that the remote goes to, or just the remote? And just WHERE is the remote for the airconditioner that we ARE using still????

We have in my house something we call the "mind eraser" vortex. I have often been the victim of the "mind eraser". It strikes with out warning. I think it is located in the main hall, as this is where I often forget what it was I was doing or what I came in the room for.

I also like to blame this vortex for why my DH forgets what we've talked about. Any conversation that takes place in the hall runs the risk of being erased from the mind forever.

I too have this Vortex!!! while sitting in front of the computer more times than anything.....I'll have something I need to look up or do then poof it's gone!!! apparently the walk downstairs is also far too long because by the time I get from point A to point B it's gone.


ALSO anything that I try to keep a secret from DBF (like Xmas presents or anything of that nature) seems to hide from me and find HIM!!! ok now where is the Ginko because I can't find the thing I hid a week ago

Our new house came with multiple vortex, or is that vortexes, or is that vortexi? And I actually took Latin in high school.

Downstairs, the post-it notepad vortex is by the phone in the living room. Upstairs, the scissors vortex is near my pc desk. All missing items go in to the total perspective vortex, never to be seen again. It's a good thing we have a local office supply store with good prices that delivers!

Oddly enough, my washer has been coughing up unmatched socks at an amazing rate. I have quite the stack in the laundry room.

I'm considering posting lost sock pics on the neighbourhood HOA announcement board!

I think my house must be at the other end of some of your vortexes. there are only 2 of us, and yet there is always a mountain of laundry overflowing out of the hamper (even the same day I empty it and wash everything) and pens everywhere (DH is a grocery store manager and always has them in his pockets). Desserts do seem to vanish into thin air though!

Yah! My house must be at the other end of the pen vortex! A small mountain of pens ends up in our kitchen "junk" drawer. All of a sudden you can't close the drawer because the pens are in the way. I'll go through and weed them out and even throw some away that don't write very well just to try to get a handle on the situation, and I'll turn around and voila! More pens!!!

over the weekends, some weird vertex just sucks up all the time at my house. no sooner do i get home friday and then it's monday. Apparently this vertex's opposite end is right where i work! All that time seems to get deposited right in my cubicle.

We have the opposite end of a paper vortex. Little pieces of used paper everywhere. Little notes, receipts, post-its. Who is writing all this stuff? And there are only two of us!

I have a pritt-stick vortex in my house. We can never find one of those darned glue sticks. However at work, theres always a pen vortex, and it's usually we who replaces them out of my own pocket cause I get annoyed about it very quickly.

We have an emery board vortex. I don't care how many of those i buy...there are none in the house. I think Dh is using them as sandpaper!

OK I found a new one in my house just recently

the pieces of paper that have important info on it where are they all going and why is it that when I need it, it is no where to be found but five days later it is magically just sitting on my desk???

In the John / Kevin house...it's scissors.

They seem to have a life of their own.

Definitely scissors in my house too. I'm packing up my whole place for a move and still am not finding the umpteen pairs of scissors I know I've bought over the last 5 years.

I have the duct-tape vortex. Can never find a roll of duct tape when I need it...and I ALWAYS need it!

Socks...but always just one of a pair. It's nearly impossible to find two that match at a given time!

At Work it is Pens & Box Cutters - 1 minute you have 10, the next you can't find one if your life depended on it. The other big one for work is: Paper, especially for phone messages and other notations while on the phone when talking to customers, and the sad part is I work in a Print Shop and I can't find a piece of paper.

At Home, Everything - if I needed it I can't find it.

Our vortex likes to take the lids to the gladware. I always have twice as many containers then lids, except for those small little round ones, they leave those alone and when they don't want the gladware they take the dogs brush. I have three brushes but never can find them when I need them.
