Housecleaning......what is the going rate?

Just wondering what the going rate for housecleaning is. Homeowner has all the supplies. Dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning the bathrooms. Three level house. Can anyone help me out????

I guess it depends on where you live and the size of your house (e.g. how many rooms, sq ft., etc.)

We pay $75 every two weeks for a 2,800 square foot house.

We pay $100 every two weeks and our house is about 2900 sqare feet.

My house is 2300 sq ft....I live in South Central MA....$60.00, she is generally here 2 1/2 hours and every other week.

I totally agree with "WHERE YOU LIVE". I am sure if I was closer to Boston, I would pay $120.00 for the SAME service.

In the great old days (2 years ago) when I had a college cleaning crew (daughters of a friend) doing my home (2200 sq ft), I was paying $60/week to the girls.

FYI, I don't know many cleaning folks that insist on homeowner supplying their cleaning supplies. My parent's cleaner does have them buy their own stuff but she's been doing it their house for about 15 years. I believe they pay her $200/month.

Agree that it depends on location and size of house. We have a 1700 sf home, 3 BR, 3 BA. $80 every 2 weeks. I just started using a housecleaning service a couple of months ago when DH went to TX for training. I went to servicemagic.com -- good way to get quotes.

Depends on the person too. I offerred to clean Terri Hatcher's place for free and got a restraining order for my efforts...

When we lived in California we paid $15 an hour. MIL pays $12.50 here in Florida.

The housecleaner our doula got us (AWESOME welcome baby gift!!) charged $20/hour and gave every 6th hour free.

Our cleaning girl charges $30 every two weeks.
