My cousin and her fiancee will be moving into their house soon, and I was wondering what sort of housewarming gift ideas you had, and what are some useful ones that you had recieved. I was thinking of getting her a toaster oven cause she liked the one that we have. I don't want to ask her what she wants, cause I want it to be a surprise.

Sounds good.

What we have been doing in the last few years is finding the local take out/delivery places and getting them gift certificates.

I know when we were doing some renovations and moving in it was great to just call and get delivery and it was all paid for.

But 1st home, and they need stuff I would go with something you know she admired.

Aloha from the Big Island!

I think the toaster oven sounds perfect, since you know your cousin likes it.

Another good gift for "first time" homeowners are some household tools (like the Craftsmen's kits at Sears with screwdrivers, etc.), or if it's a new home with sparce landscaping, maybe even a nice plant for the yard. Something that could be given to them "potted" and then planted when they're ready. Yard tools are good, too. Maybe a g/c for Home Depot or Lowes.

But.....the toaster oven does sound perfect!!!

I always gift a home depot gift certificate for housewarmings...people moving into a new home usually need a bunch of things there.....

More of a fun gift than a useful one, but my sister and I have been getting people decorations for the next holiday as house warming gifts lately.
