HOB is separated into two parts, the restaurant and the ticketed concert venue.
There's a small stage inside the restaurant that generally features live musicians at night, and in the warmer months they often play on the patio. I've only been there once where there was no live musician (it was a weeknight in February) and there was still loud music being piped through the restaurant. You can not hear or see the acts playing at the ticketed concert venue while in the restaurant.
The food isn't bad, but it's definitely not great. I'd say it's on par with an Applebees. I'd rate it far below most Disney table service places though.
I'm a local, and I LOVE the House of Blues as a concert venue because of its Pass the Line program. If you're attending a show at the concert venue and you eat at the restaurant or buy merchandise at the gift shop that night, you get a ticket to enter a special standby line for entrance into the venue. We've gotten to hop on line a half hour before showtime to sold out shows and been one of the first ones inside the venue to stake out our spots. Priceless!
It's a neat place to check out whether or not you eat there, but I recommend checking the concert calendar often. They tend to list shows around 2-3 months in advance, perhaps you'll get lucky and a group you're interested in will be playing during your trip. As a concert lover, that'd be a big vacation bonus in my mind!
