I am kind of disappointed that the House of Blues isn't on the DDP, but I am interested in checking it out on my next trip to WDW. I was specifically thinking about going for the Sunday Gospel Brunch. I don't think I will mind paying OOP for this place.

Can anyone tell me about their experience with the House of Blues? Is the entertainment a must see?
Do I have to make reservations ahead of time? if so, how far ahead of time?

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

We have eaten at House of Blues a few times. The food is really good and authentic. If your tag is correct, I doubt you can get ADRs for the Gospel Brunch in 6 days. We are going at the end of the month and have been trying for weeks. But, who knows, you might get lucky, I hear its worth the trouble. Good Luck!

We love the food at HOB - I have not been in Orlando, only in Las Vegas and New Orleans - but I would definitely recommend the food.

My DD(then 8) and I had a great time at the gospel brunch. Food was great entertainment was great, and the room was packed! I don't think there was an empty seat in the place.
I went years ago to the HOB brunch in Boston, and the food was same but entertainment not as good as Orlando.:dance3:

We've done the Sunday Gospel Brunch at Myrtle Beach, and it was great! Good food and good music, but a very long wait without reservations. We thought about trying it when we go, but figured we could not get reservations this late in the game.

If you want to save a little $$$ on it, try buying a gift certificate from restaurant.com

I've never been to the Gospel Brunch but have eaten in the restaurant many times. We love the food, and always make a point go each trip.

Double check the restrictions on the certificate if you are wanting to go to the Gospel Brunch. If I remember right it is not valid for that.

We used one at the Myrtle Beach location, and when we were looking into going to the DTD location, I checked the restrictions. All good!! :thumbsup2

Mine that I have right in front of me now for Orlando says excludes the gospel brunch? :confused3

When I called & made my reservation for the HOB Gospel Brunch in DTD the gentleman on the phone said the certificate wasn't good for the brunch. He said something about it not being in the restaurant, but next door. Haven't been yet tho, so I can't say for sure.
Please let us know how you make out & how you like the brunch.
Have a great time!

I bought it April 7th.

I just checked the date on the one I bought for Garden Grove, which is 3/26. That was the last time I looked at restaurant.com (although I don't know if I had looked at HOB at that time), so it must have been updated since then.

I logged on today, and saw that yes, you can no longer use them for the Gospel Brunch. My mistake. But we did use one at Myrtle Beach, and when I looked at that location, they are still valid there. Kind of a shame they don't have the same policies throughout the chain.

I know people here love to put other people in their place when they give wrong information, as so far 3 people have chimed in to tell me I'm wrong, so I am sorry for not verifying the current acceptance policy before giving advice.

I hope you didn't think that's what I was trying to do :flower3:
I just hate for someone to buy something that doesn't work for them and then have to exchange it for something else that they may not want.

That goes for me too, KigerKat. I truly wasn't trying to correct you at all. Just reporting what I was told. We can all learn from each other.
And I agree with you - the policies should be the same at all locations. When they're not, it causes confusion.
