just wondering what you guys think about HOB? i'm thinking of making an ADR for our trip in 2 weeks :goodvibes

I ate there back in October and liked it. Hot wings were overpriced, IMO, so I wouldn't bother with them. We had burgers, and they were tasty!

I am going back there next week, using my restaurant.com certificate. This time, I'm getting steak. :lovestruc And maybe a pan of the cornbread. I've heard it is yummy! I have to spend at least $35, and this trip is solo. I'm thinking of saving most of the cornbread for breakfast the next morning. Hopefully, my hotel (Hilton) has somewhere to heat it up in the quick serivce shop.

NOTES: It has close to "street" HOB prices which means
good pricing for a WDW eatery, earning it a "B" for value.
Sometimes it can be kind of loud inside. The Sunday Gospel
Lunch is good (make ressies!) Buy a restaurant.com certificate
and save up to 60%. We were quite happy with the 1/2-rack of
ribs for taste, size, tenderness and price.

Aside from the fact that the waitress dumped an ENTIRE coke on me and was more concerned about wiping up the table than getting me some napkins since my outfit was soaked through to my underwear, we enjoyed the food. As a matter of fact if you watch for them, you can get 80% restaurant.com gift certificates for the house of blues.

Since we are DVC, I asked if we could get our discount as well as use the RR.com gift cert. They never did get back to us on that and when the bill came...well that's when she dumped the coke on me. The manager offered to take 20% off the bill (which is how much should have come off with our DVC discount), but never took it off or the dvc discount, but ended up giving us 2 shot glasses. I thought at the very LEAST they could have take the charge for the coke off the bill! So, I watched La Nouba soaking wet that night. I think we just got a bad waitress...I'd go back.

We haven't eaten at the one in Florida yet but have at the one in DTD, Anaheim. It's good, loud, and yes, a little overpriced but a good deal with the restaurant.com certificate.

Personally, I didn't like the cornbread. I thought it was nothing special. I too ordered it to get to $35 but I won't order it again. Now the Key Lime pie is another thing all together! So Good!

Here are a few pix from the one here in Anaheim. They should all be about the same.

Skillet Cornbread
Our Famous Rosemary Cornbread - $7.00

One thing that is nice about HoB is that the certificate doesn't exclude beverages. So even though you are traveling solo it won't be hard to reach $35. I've done it with DD11 with her getting a kid's meal, me soup and salad, and dessert to share. Free water.:goodvibes

Key Lime Pie, to go. So good and so big!
Fresh Florida Key Lime Pie - whipped topping and raspberry coulis $6.00

For me, the Key Lime Pie is a winner over the cornbread. And also good for breakfast!:goodvibes
