I put this somewhere else, but not sure if it was the right place so gonna try here...
I'm on Restaurants.com right now and I'm looking at buying HOB,but was hoping someone could answer a few questions for me.
1st- would we need to make a reservation?
2nd- can you just go to eat and not worry about the concerts?
3rd- would it be wrong of me to just order a couple of the pizzas off the appetizer menu,or do you have to buy a main course? Plus does anyone know how big the brick pizzas are??

For anyone considering HOB, we were pleasantly surprised to find their happy hour as we were strolling by the other day. I believe it is from 3-5, cheap drinks and half off all apps. Great way to have a drink, relax and then dive into DQuest with DD.

I have eaten there before and I did get one of those restaurant.com certificates.

I have eaten at HOB twice in the main dining room, no concerts. I think that is a separate area but I am not sure.

I did make an ADR for my next trip on the Disney website, however I have also done walk up and had a short wait. They gave me one of those light up buzzers.

What I understand about the restaurant.com cert is you have to order at least $35 worth of food (not sure drinks count) to get the $25 off. So you will spend at least $10 plus the added 18% tip. You should be fine ordering pizzas as long as you meet the $35 requirement.

Wow really? Half off the appetizers? Do they do Happy Hour everyday? Sure would make it where you could try more for your buck at half off!! Thanks for the info!;):)

Thanks! With DH and 2 little ones I don't think it'll be a problem. I'm thinking I'll make a reservation just to be safe just trying to figure out what time I want to go,someone mentioned half off apps during Happy Hour, may look into that more and go during that time!

Just realized I had a typo, the added tip is 18% not 10%.

I know it's been awhile but we leave Fri. morning and if someone could help me with a few more questions??

Has anyone tried the catfish/sweet potatoes on the appetizers, if so was it a decent amount?
Plus for anyone who has used the restaurant.com certificate recently, were the drinks included as food going towards the $35 ??
Last, someone mentioned above that between 3-5 they have half off appetizers/drinks happy hour thing, can anyone confirm??

Thanks for any help, just trying to figure out our budget, crossing t's and dotting i's sort of thing!;)

Usually it says on the certificate it can't be used on special price things like the 1/2 price appetizers. I will look at my certificate and post back.

**I just looked and it did not say alcohol was excluded nor that it could not be used during happy hour.** Maybe call the restaurant before you go but it should be valid during happy hour. Could you please post back your findings as I would like to use my certificate in December. Thanks!

not worried about alcohol, guess I'm hoping for the half off appetizers,lol...but of course I will let everyone know how it goes!

GIFT CERTICATE STATES: Use of Restaraunt Specific gift Certicficates for alcoholic beverages is at the sole discretion of the restaraunt.

appreciate your time, like I mentioned above I'm not interested in the alcohol part, just the appetizers, but I'm sure this helped out someone!;)

The 1/2 price appetizers would be great! I will be waiting to hear if they let you use the gc for that! It is a pretty cool place. I am so excited of the new restaurants that restaurant.com added (The Swan/Dolphin venues as well) and love how they indicate when a certificate has been used. And the fact they don't expire is even better. I get them at the end of the month when they are 80% off. I think I currently have 10 different ones to use.

Have fun!

If you bought half price appetizers you still need to achieve a minimum spend. I know if two people order adult entrees and desserts it is easy to hit the required $35 mark but looking at your posts, you look like you do as I do and tend to order an appetizer or two sides as a main. I would think based on the minimum spend that the certificate should be fine. Just ask them. Perhaps you could call from your room when you get to Disney and ask them to clarify so you know before you get there for your meal.

We've had the catfish appetizer a couple of times. There was a very decent amount and quite good. I have had it and a pan of cornbread before as a whole meal and that was sharing a lot of the cornbread.

The biggest problem with HOB is they have so many great things on the menu it's hard to choose. And by the time you've had an appetizer and entree, good luck trying to find room for dessert.

They need a sample platter. Maybe we should volunteer to test them out for them ;)

We have eaten at House of Blues many times and have used the Restaurant.com certificates twice. The first time with the certificate we got the ribs and the rib-eye. We were disappointed as these two entrées have gone downhill from their prime about 3 or 4 years ago. The last time we went simple with a pasta dish and pulled pork sandwich. They were great and bought another certificate for an upcoming trip in November.

The concerts are held in a separate venue beside the restaurant, but they do have live bands play in the restaurant. So keep that in mind. It appears they also clarified that the certs can't be used on gospel brunch. They added a comma where before it appeared it just couldn't be used on brunch during holidays and special events.

Unless you are going during peak diner time during peak travel season, you shouldn't have a problem just walking in.
