Hey.. has anyone ate here before that could tell me how it was? Is it expensive???

I would love to know the details..

I didn't think it was all that pricey but I was not impressed by the food (with the exception of the rosemary cornbread - that was delish and unique). The ambience was nice, but I don't see myself returning to the House of Blues.

You should be able to get info on this place at hob.com, just pick the Orlando location.

It is a chain so the food will have a dependable, repeatable aspect to it, but I've enjoyed my meals at our local location. I would expect you'd get a good meal in an interesting environment. The bread pudding dessert should not be attempted alone. It is delicious and a site to behold, proceed with caution.

HOB is famous for their Sunday Gospel Brunch. It actually isn't a meal, but rather a ticketed event which includes the meal and the show. The brunch menu is definitely displayed on the web page.

We've eaten at HOB several times and enjoyed it. There are some interesting items on the menu that you really can't find elsewhere at WDW. The food was good as was the service. Price is about what you expect at WDW.

My wife and I always include HoB on our must eat list. The food is good, atmosphere is good, and the drinks are tasty. The portions are big for the price, watch what you get, we've discovered that we can share the Catfish nuggets & sweet potato fries app and split the creoloe Jambalaya. We're both BIG eaters and that's putting it mildly.

This was the only sit down meal me and my fiancee did on our first trip in 2006 and we were very pleased with it. Walked straight in at about 6pm one night with no rezzies and had the place practically to ourselves. Lovely food, interesting surroundings and excellent service.

Admittedly we havent been back since but thats only because we have discovered free dining and its not on the dining plan :worried: (However I should think that this makes getting walk ups like we did a whole lot easier)

Oh yeah the gift shop next door is excellent too!

If you can experience the Gospel Brunch while you're there you should. It's
WONDERFUL. :thumbsup2

HOB is one of the better places to eat in the DTD area. Fair prices, good portions, decent menu selection. We have been eating there every year, as of late.

Can anyone tell me more about the Gospel Brunch? I think my husband would love it.

TIA

We ate there last Aug. and it was good. It was not the best meal we have ever had but we would eat there again. It is worth trying.

It's offered on Sundays only. It's basically a very spread out buffet, with entertainment (gospel music) on the stage. When we were there, they had custom omelet stations, peel and eat shrimp, a roast beef and ham carving person, and lots of pretty darned good food. We liked it, but found the music to be loud, and the buffet lines were jam packed the first 45 minutes. Was it good, yes, but not sure of the value. We may go back someday.

I had the catfish nuggets and sweet potato fries, and both were soooo delicious! Even my fussy brother liked them!

I had a burger and put avocado on it because that seemed strange to me. I put avocado on all my burgers at home now because it was so good!

We went in January for my 40th b-day lunch and it was awesome!! :thumbsup2 DH and I had the ribs with fries, DD16 had a pizza, and I forgot what monstrous meal DS17 had but I think it was a huge burger with fries. We all had some great deserts too... of course since we were celebrating my b-day::yes:: Our total bill with my DE card was like $75. I thought it was really reasonable. And we purchased the pictures they take at the beginning.

We ate there twice and really enjoyed it (lunch). We had shrimp po boys that were to die for, caesar salad was awesome, jamabalaya was amazing, the cornbread with rosemary is the best thing ever!

We went last year and it was one of the better meals from our trip. My husband loved the shrimp in the dixie beer reduction sauce. In fact, he asked for extra cornbread to eat the rest of the sauce when he was finished with the shrimp.
