Can you please tell me what this is like? We're looking for something memorable to do on Mother's Day (and have ruled out the MD brunch at Epcot).

How is the food?

How is the music?

I assume that it is NOT making fun of Christianity in any way, right?

TIA
Robin

I've been to the one in Anaheim. It's very loud. My poor mother covered her ears (not terribly tactful I'm afraid).

The food was very good!

It's very soulful and spiritual. Definitely not 'making fun' of Christianity in anyway, but it may be a different kind of experience than you're used to.

Just an FYI the tickets have already gone on sale for the Mothers Day Brunch. I purchased mine today for the 1PM show.

Hope to see you there as I hear it is a fantastic experience. (Although everyone does say its loud) Request the second seating area.

Can't - our flight home leaves at 3pm. We'll have to do the 10am if we do it.

We had the gospel brunch last year and the food was fantastic! :goodvibes My DH wasn't too keen on the music (just not his thing) but I quite enjoyed it. Yes, it was fairly loud, but we were seated right in front on the stage. There were tables much further away, which I assume would be quieter.

There was quite a lot of audience interaction throughout the performance; they brought people up on stage a few times and there was of course the obligatory hand clapping. All in all a very pleasant experience, I'd definitely recommend it if you enjoy gospel music. If not you maybe better off just going to House of Blues for lunch or dinner on a "normal" day (which is what DH prefers to do next time).

Hope that helps, :)

As DW above said, it was very happy clappy which isn't my thing. If you didn't get up and clap you were the odd one out, so I begrudgingly joined in, but next time i'd want to sit at the back somewhere less conspicous.

It definately doesn't make fun of Christianity. In fact as an atheist it was far too religious for me to feel comfortable with, it made me feel pretty out of place.

One thing I will say though, the food was very good :thumbsup2
