The recent reviews for the House of Blues in Downtown Disney on Yelp have absolutely nothing good to say about the food - they all say it was downright awful. But the tripadvisor reviews are all pretty positive.

So, for those of you who have been recently, was it good (or at least alright) or really bad? If it makes any difference, I am looking at just a regular lunch or dinner, not the Sunday brunch.

It wasn't real recent, but I was there late May, like 5/28 or 5/29. The food was not bad, in fact I thought it was pretty damn good. There were two of us (me and dd6) and everything from the appetizers to the dessert were really good. Now they could have changed cooks or menus since then, I don't know, but I would chance going back next time I'm there.

I saw that they were offering the gift certificates for this restaurant in anaheim on restaurant.com but I have never eaten there.

I have been to the HOB in Orlando several times for the Gospel Brunch, and always loved it. The food in the restaurant is okay. I am wondering about the Gospel Brunch at HOB in Anaheim. Is it getting bad reviews like the restaurant food? I would like to try it out on my trip this time.

We've eaten there recently, within the last month or so. The food was good, but we found a hair on my son's plate (thank goodness he is sort of a picky eater, he never even got near the food that it was underneath until I picked it up) near the end of our meal that completely turned us off to eating there again in the future.

we ate there in June with a restaurant.com certificate. The food was OK and the service was terrible. We went for a late lunch around 2. The place was just about empty. Saw plenty of staff, but they were SLOW.

We ate there in June as well with our restaurant.com certificate. The food was pretty good to us, but way over priced for the quality. I probably wouldn't eat there with out the certificate.
We did have really good service though so I guess we lucked out on that. There is another promo on restaurants.com. I think the code is "plate".

We've gone to HoB twice in the last few months using the restaurant.com certificates and had good food AND good service. :goodvibes For me, the only negative was the loudness of the music, Friday night, about 7:30 .p.m. I like to me able to talk without yelling when I eat. :confused3

We will be going again, using a restaurant.com certificiate. I just bought another one couple days ago using the "PLATE" discount. Also picked up one for Lonestar Steakhouse here in Corona-we eat there regularly. The food is very good and moderately priced. Of course, it's even a better deal when you can save $23 on a $35 meal. ;)

Here's what DD10 and I had on our first visit.

Rosemary Skillet Cornbread-this is one of their classics. It was the one thing I didnt' care for. It was okay, just not special to me. Our Famous Rosemary Skillet Cornbread - Served in a cast iron skillet with maple butter. $6.99

Caesar Salad.-very good!Caesar Side Salad - Topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese. $7.99

Soup of the day. Lobster Bisque. Tasty, just a little spicy. Soup of the Day - Cup $3.99, Bowl $5.99 This was very filling-I should have just gotten a cup.

Kid's Fettucini-she loved it, not fancy, just basic, the way kid's like it. Kids Rotini - with Marinara, Alfredo, or Butter - $6.95 Note- kid's drink not inc.($1.95) We didn't order one the next time.

Housemade Key Lime Pie-to go-we were so full! This is really, really, good! Fresh Florida Key Lime Pie - whipped topping and raspberry coulis $6.99

While HoB may seem expensive, I think it's right in line with DLR restaurants.

The next time we went back we ordered the Caesar salad (again), kid's pasta (again), Key Lime Pie (again) and Build Your Own Pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. It was just enough for the 3 of us. DDM, DD10, and myself. By adding the mushrooms to the pizza I was able to get our bill to $35.70 before discount.

We were there in May and it was good. Not like "write home about it" good, but good food and a good price with the restaurant.com certificate. I'd give it a shot if you have that!

Ate there on June 28/11 food was terrible and no free refill on the $5 raspberry lemonade. Used to have real good food 2 or 3 years ago. Not sure what happened but the food and service has sure gone downhill, Same for the Las Vegas HOB.

I can't say my experience was recent (mid December 2010) but I was less than impressed with the food. My friends and I were attending a concert in the venue portion of HoB so we figured we'd grab dinner before hand. I wish we had gone anywhere else in DTD.

I have not eaten there since last August..so its been awhile! But, we used a restaurant.com certificate as well. For what we paid it was well worth it. I thought the food was great and the drinks even better! There was a mix-up with our reservation so the manager was very accomodating and gave us a free sampler (which was waaaay yummy!) We will be eating there again this trip because we liked it so much. Sure hope the food has not gone downhill.
