House Hunting disappointment (UPDATE Pg 2)

That just goes to show that you will find the right house from you soon! I wouldn't buy that house from those people either! They just know that you are interested and think they can take advantage of you by raising the price!!! KNUCKLEHEADS!!

Sorry to hear about that. Housing is extremely tight in MA...especially in towns with building caps. Supply and demand will come back and bite those towns in the butt and they are feeling it now.

People can name their price no matter how ridiculous and get it because the housing supply has been artificially limited by building caps, increasing minimum lots sizes (in some towns it's now 2 acre minimums), and land bank restrictions.

It's sad to see so many of us priced out of our home towns and new towns we'd like to live in. If I didn't have my house now I could never afford the prices my town commands...and my house is only 6 years old!

Today 5/10, we learned the buyers walked out of their offer due to buyer's remorse....they must of thought about it over the weekend.

I was so happy to hear....but then learned the buyers still rejected our offer too.

It was originally listed at $310,000. That's what we offered.
We then raised to $315,000.

Now they are relisting at $340,000!!! ARGH!!! Yes, I agree they'll get that much eventually.... but NOT FROM US!!!

wait a minute - these people had buyers, the buyers walked out, you were offering what they were listing - plus $5k...and they rejected your offer on the table and decided to bump the price of the house THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS????

did they put in a pool or add a second wing onto the house or something? sheesh...

best of luck to you ...

Sorry you didn't get your house. We lost out on two before we found our house - and are glad we did.

If I were the seller and had a huge bidding war on my hands over my house after I'd accepted an offer, I would have raised the price after the first offer fell through too. As you said, their house was probably underpriced to begin with.

Nope...nothing added to the house.

And only 8 days between first listing......and 2nd listing too.
