Hours update one day at a time - really???

We have a March trip planned, so I thought I'd start checking for park hours. It looks like they're posting hours one day at a time. Is this how DL always posts hours - right on the 60 day out mark (haven't been to DL in a few years)? They couldn't do a week or even month at a time??

Kind of bizarre to me.

Unfortunately that's just how DLR operates It can make planning a pain sometimes, but the planning involved in a DLR vacation isn't nearly as extensive as planning a WDW vacation (so I've heard, I have yet to do WDW but am learning how lax I can be on DLR planning).

I have been checking since December for our March 20th vacation and one day at a time is posted.

Frustrating for the super planners out there that want to see how late the parks will be open on certain nights. It seems to be different for the whole month of Feb. ( some weekday 12 pm closings...)

I hope we will be that lucky late March!

Be happy if it's at 60 days. Typically its in the 4-6 week range.

You can always check what the times were last year for the same or similar date. They usually are a pretty accurate schedule for this year also.

Yes I agree it can be frustrating. Especially for those accustomed to WDW.

However, remember that the big reason WDW does this is because of the ADR's and EMH's, and more difficult park hopping - and hence need to choose which park you want to visit six months ahead of time! DLR has none of this. Many DLR vets would find this type of uber-planning bizarre!

Aside from just wanting to know, why would one want to know the schedule more than two months in advance? Will it affect dining? No, you can't make reservations that far in advance. Will it affect which park you will visit. Not really, as parkhopping at DLR is a different animal than WDW and you can change your mind on a dime.

The only real impact is knowing what entertainment is planned. And that is the most frustrating part IMO. Fortunately this is not hard to guess as DLR changes very little from year to year in terms of hours and entertainment schedules. Finally, if the OP is trying to pin down dining I would strongly encourage a more relaxed and dynamic approach to dining reservations at DLR. It will make you and your family much happier I think. I know, it makes it so hard to plan, but that's they way they seem to do it. But like other's have said, I'd look at past time's and start planning kinda around what was in the past. Happy planning!!

OP back...

Yes, we are uber planners with many trips to WDW where we have to plan dining 6 months out. I know DL doesn't take reservations until 60 days out (we've been 4-5 times in the past 8 years), but it would be nice to plan a little ahead of the 60 day mark, even though I know the reservations won't be gone at the 60 day mark like some things are at WDW. We're taking extended family for in-laws 50th anniversary trip (9 all together) and in the past we have made dining time plans based on park hours (deciding what morning to have a late breakfast at Plaza Inn or Goofy's, whether to have dinner at 4 or 6, etc).

We are much more relaxed when it comes to DL vs. WDW - really!!
