Hotwire questions

Has anyone booked with hotwire? I am worried about what kind of flights you get. I have never done this.

I put in dates for next August from NJ to San Francisco and it came back with $196.00 round trip.

We have reservations through Hotwire for an upcoming trip to Orlando from Chicago. Our trip has a stopover in OH and our flight doesn't leave until 4:55 p.m. on our vacation start date. They were, by far, the cheapest tickets we could find, so we'll put up with the small inconveniences. However, I decided not to use them for a previous trip from Chicago to LA because of the time change, etc. I was afraid we'd be stuck with horrible flight times. We flew Vanguard (I'm not sure if that's an option for you) and were happy with our flight times (which we selected) and the ticket price because we booked far in advance.

I haven't gotten plane tickets through Hotwire but I have through Priceline. All 4 have been to Orlando. One had especially crummy times - arriving after midnight and leaving early in the morning...but the other 3 have been fine. I wouldn't use Priceline/Hotwire for my family vacation, but I'd use it for a solo trip. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com for some very helpful tips.
