We are looking for a one night stay in the orlando area on both sides of our trip/so 2 nights a week apart. We are considering booking using hotwire or priceline. Once you choose one of these I understand you bought it and there is no going back. But, can you somehow make arrangements for late check in and is there anyway to get a non smoking room or the size beds you want. We are not too picky as we are mostly going to sleep there, but if we can get a 3 star for the same price as booking a 1 or 2 star by not knowing what hotel it is we would rather do that. TIA

I use Hotwire frequently. Once you get the name of the hotel and telephone number just call them with your preferences and let them know you'll be checking in late. I've done this many times without any problems.

I have used Hotwire a few times and love it. Every time I have chosen a 3 star hotel and have never been disappointed. Have not used it in the Orlando area, though, so I don't know what hotels they deal with. The offer will give you an idea of what you might get before you make the final deal.
Have a great trip!
Anne

I use priceline quite a bit for the orlando area. I have always booked at the resort level, so I am not sure if lower star levels are as accomodating, but I have never had any problems with a late check in or room preferences.

The Disney area resort level hotels that come up frequently on priceline are Hilton @ DTD, Gaylord Palms, and Omni @ Champion's Gate. I've never paid more than $100 per room for these resorts. Don't know what your budget is....there is a website that gives some really good strategies on how to bid on priceline and get the best deal. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link here, but if you PM me I'll be happy to give it to you. :)

HTH,

We used Priceline for our recent trip to Disney, and after my bid was accepted, I called the hotel (Sheraton Safari) directly and requested an early check in, as well as a two queen beds, nonsmoking room. I had no problems in receiving my requested room and time.

I've been pretty lucky with priceline in Orlando, but I will admit that it gets me nervous every time.
