I placed an order through Hotwiresavingsclub on April 30 for 10 QC vouchers and $200 in BabiesRUs gift certificates (need new car seat for trip). The charge went through on my credit card on 5/3 and I still have not recieved my order. I called Hotwire yesterday and they gave me the tracking # for my order, the shipping company shows it was delivered to a local post office on 5/3. I called Hotwire back and they say it is out of their hands because it was delivered to the post office. Post office says they can't do anything about it either becasue the shipping company sends them a batch of shipments and they are not signed for.
I am waiting for todays mail so hopefully by some miracle they will show up.
Anyone else have this happen to them? I don't know what to do next. Can hotwire cancel the gift certs and vouchers and reship? I would really hate to be out $425.00.

Thanks

Amy

I know this won't help, but a similar thing happend to me with an order from Best Buy. The store was out of stock on the dvd my DD wanted for her birthday, and I was told at the store that if I orded it online I'd probalby get it in 3 days. Well, I had a USPS tracking number, and that said it arrived at a local postal distrubution center on the 3rd day, so I expected it the next. After two more days of not getting it, I called Best Buy and was told the same as you, that it was out of their hands. I ended up printing out the tracking info and taking it to the post office to ask why I hadn't received it yet after it was sitting somewhere in town for three days. I was told that the tracking number was for an entire pallet of parcels, and that as soon as it was all sorted out I'd get it. Well, it finally arrived on the seventh day, which was two days after DD's birthday.

Good luck with your order. My advice would be to print out your tracking info and ask for help at your post office. I'm sending pixie dust your way in hopes that your vouchers arrive soon!

I ordered 4 QC vouchers on April 15. They said they were mailed on April 17. I have never recieved them. About 10 days ago I started calling hotwire and keep records of everyone I talked to with the ID numbers. Finally they expressed 4 new vouchers (got them yesterday) to me, and said they would notify Disney that the other vouchers' numbers that were lost are invalid. I just kept on calling and emailing people until someone helped me. I was nice, polite, and firm. I don't think it matters whether the post office got them or not. You are the customer and you did not recieve them. They can invalidate the old ones and send you new ones by signed express delivery (like they did me) or you can contest the charge on your credit card. Good Luck!

Here is a copy of some of the emails that went back and forth:

"Dear Ms. xxxxxx:

I am having the recent order sent again via second day freight with signature. If the first ones arrive later please return those as we have notified Disney that those serial numbers are either lost or stolen.

Thank you,
Mark Myers

Dear Mr. Myers:

On 5/5/04 I spoke to Ronnie, id 10948, about my missing vouchers. At that time I decided to wait one more day to see if they arrived. On 5/6/04 I spoke to Jake, id 16886, about my missing vouchers. I told him I had emailed Hot-wire and I was told to wait until Monday, 5/10/04, to see if they would arrive. He also told me I would be receiving a phone call. I gave him my new phone number to put on my account.

I waited and did not receive the vouchers or the phone call. However, I did receive an email from you. To day I have spoken to Rachel, Id 3472, and John, id 9893, who then forwarded me to your phone where I was forwarded to a voice mail.

Now, my vacation is on May 26. Everyone I have spoken to has assured me that my vouchers would arrive before I left, however I am getting quite nervous. Jake even said he was sending $60 in rebates because of the trouble this has been, which was very nice of him. I just need some assurances that I will receive the vouchers I ordered before my vacation date.

Thank you

My vouchers finally came today!!! Don't know what the hold up was. They came in an Airborne Express envelope addressed to me with the return address of a post office about 30 miles away. Inside was the envelope from Hotwire. Strange, but I'm just glad they got here.

Hurrah! Glad your problem is solved without more worry and effort.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I recently ordered some vouchers, etc and instead of coming in 7 to 10 days, they were here in 3 days.

Snaffu's can happen in the mail anywhere. Just imagine thought the route all of our mail takes. I'm surprised we get any of it. We are truly blessed to live in a time in history where we can communicate with people we don't know so quickly and easily. Just look at us all now. We are strangers, but yet we are united on the internet.

Praise the Lord it is for good and not EVIL!

I had a similar delay with the local post office here in Pensacola. I ordered a memory card for my digital camera from Buy.com on April 28th. It was accepted at the local Post Office distribution center on May 4th. I didn't actually receive the package at my house until May 12th. I was told by the Post Office that packages are sorted and delivered by priority. From overnight on down to the lower class freight. It made sense to me, but not 8 days of sitting in a sorting facility. But anyways, I did finally receive my package and learned that if I need a package by a certain date, I will just use Fedex or UPS for delivery. By they way, my sister in law ordered the same exaxt memory card as I did a day later than I did and actually received her package at home on May 3rd (she lives in New Orleans and both our packages were mailed from NY). Go figure.
