I've had it with Hotwire! Their computer system is screwed up--and we take the penalty!
Here's the scoop.
A month or two ago, I signed up for Hotwire via my home address but had problems with their system rejecting my Webcertificate Mastercard. Out of frustration, I cancelled after three days.
SUcking it up, deciding I wanted to give them another try, I
I re-signed up my DH with Hotwire. I used his work email address and a different card and seemed to successfully complete his membership sign-up. He received the email confirmation from Hotwire with his number, etc.
Today, I can't get on the website to buy GCs.
I call Hotwire--polite idiots, IMHO--but they told me that the email address (which is used daily just fine by others) is not "valid"--they claim their emails aren't getting through (they ARE!). I read the email confirmation and other emails they had sent DH to the customer service person and to her manager. Both say "I don't know" about 100 times and tell me they can do nothing. I ask if I can update the email address and they say "no," and suggest I re-sign up. I say 'Will my DH be allowed to re-enroll so quickly?" She says "no-it'll probably reject his name." HUH? So why tell me to do it? Unbelievable!!! I WANT to give them my business and they seem to want to NOT have it.
Because THEIR system can't tell the emails are getting through, they arbitrarily cancel my DH's account and refuse to help me!!!
I'm so mad that I can't think. I have given up on them and would strongly caution others about the complete LACK of customer service help--true half-wits!
