Hotwire for car rental?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has used Hotwire for renting a car or heard anything about using them for renting a car. My DH & DD are going to Orlando for a karate tournament in October. They will be staying at Disney All-Star and the tournament is being held at the Disney Sport Complex. DH is now thinking that he would like to get a rental car so that they have the freedom to get around instead of depending on taxis. The cheapest price I could find was $175 total price for Alamo but then I was able to get a price on Hotwire for $151 total. Wondering if it was worth the gamble. Any comments or opinions? Thanks a bunch!

I've rented from Hotwire and would not do it again to save $24.00. You don't know what company you're renting from until after you pay. You pay upfront and it is non-refundable.

I agree about not using Hotwire. Even if you are okay not knowing what company and paying up front, I got to the counter and they tried to give me to wrong size car. I had foolishly not printed my confirmation and had to argue with the lady. Thankfully a well timed scream from the tired infant riding on my back got me what I had reserved just to get away from the lady.

It might be cheaper, but be prepared for problems.
