Hotwire 'Buy it Now' Car Rental

This is probably old news to some here, but I offer it for those who haven't stumbled across it. I search multiple sources for rental cars, nailing down the best deal I can find then continuing to look for something better up to the last moment. Twice this year I had a rental car lined up, one in JAX in March and one in MYR in June, and while searching Hotwire I got a very good offer both times, $7 to $8 less per day than what I had and what I had been seeing. The catch is, you have to commit right then, with CC, no refund or changes allowed. I was pleased with the deal in March and just yesterday I got our MYR car for about $100 less for 10 days than I had. For what it's worth,Alamo was the 'winner' each time, and they do tell you before you commit that the agency is in the airport or not. These things 'just happen' on Hotwire, I had been looking for months in each case without seeing this, but closer to the date they appear, our Myrtle Beach trip is 48 days away and the JAX trip deal happened about the same time before that one.

FYI: Many of the rental car companies have the same option available on their own sites in some cases. I was looking at Hertz and Enterprise the other day and I could have gotten a slightly lower price in certain vehicle categories if I agreed to pay the full price up front and waive my ability to get a refund. You'll also sometime see hotel rates priced the same way.
