Ok, so, somehow it has been hotter here, in NC for basically all of July than it has been in Orlando. (I watch the temps regularly on my iphone) We're talking about 5 or so degrees! Add to that the constant levels of humidity lately, and I'm starting to think I made the right decision to make a summer trip to WDW! Maybe we'll escape a little bit of the heat! Who knew?

It's going to be in the upper 90s here all next week including one day at 100! Yikes!

During the day, Maine and Orlando had the same temperature, 89.

We have now cooled to 77, Orlando now 83. My brother in Syracuse still is 87 after 9:00 at night!

The fact that some parts of the US are hotter than WDW doesn't make me want to go to WDW in the summer. Instead, it makes me glad I'm going to ALASKA next month! :teeth:

I agree!
Summer heat and crowds and afternoon rain do not equal a fun time.

An Alaska trip sounds fabulous. This time of year, you should have long daylight time, right? Am I correct in assuming a cruise? What ship?

Yikes, we've hit 107 the last 4 days and it looks like more of the same to come. What's funny is we won't go to WDW in the summer because of the heat!:confused3 But at least at home, we can stay inside most of the time.

Yes, I am cruising to Alaska on HAL Amsterdam. The amount of daylight won't be as long as if I had gone in mid-June, but Alaska will have 2 more hours of daylight (6 :00 a.m. - 10:07 p.m. in Anchorage on August 12) than where I live in central Illinois.

I just got back from New Brunswick. I love western sides of the time zones. Sun set at 9:30 instead of 8:30 here in Maine.

I was in St John for three nights. If anyone wants to know what to do if they cruise there, I'll be happy to share ideas.

See, I had sworn I wouldn't go back in the summer, but then I looked up average highs, and they were pretty close. So...I figured we could be hot at home, or we could be hot at WDW. Besides, I don't remember it being too horrible when we went for our honeymoon 6 years ago (Seriously, how did it get to be 6 years ago already?) and our dates will almost perfectly overlap. Of course, we didn't have a 15 month old then, either! He's pretty used to the heat, too, since he loves being outside so much!

Thanks! My last Alaska cruise was in late May. It was a nice time to be in Alaska, but it was too early to really appreciate the reprieve from the hot weather at home.

When my FL friends don't want to go to WDW for the day because it's too hot, you know it's hot! It's about as warm as I can stand it when I go to WDW in April and October. On the other hand, it was literally freezing when I was there mid-December last year!

Up here in PA, Lehigh Valley area, it's been mid 90's for a while now. Loving it!!!! Especially after the horrendous winter and spring we had! :cool1:

So far there have been many days this summer where it is hotter in Northern NJ than in Orlando. Why can't it be like that in the winter?????

We just got back from WDW and a Disney Cruise on the 10th and here in Ohio on the 11th in was in the 90's with heat indexes in the 100's! We had heat warnings all over the place! I said to my family, we'd actually be cooler if we were still in DISNEY!

Smokin' hot in NYC too!...My DD is worrying about the Florida heat next month, but I keep reminding her that is will be cooler there :rotfl2:

For the most part, the temps here are very close to Orlando during the summer......we've had it nice for the last week, now we are going into another heat wave.....

86 here already today and it isn't even noon. Heat wave all week. Not looking forward to it, but in my head I just keep saying "it's better than snow. it's better than snow."

I live in DC which is the #5 hottest city in the country. Yikes! Everyone gives me such a hard time about going to Florida in the summer until I tell them that DC at that time was hotter. :)

Last night at 9 pm here in minneapolis we had a dew point of 81. Only the Amazon had a higher dew point. Air temp was 88. This week the heat index is going to be between 110-115 all week.
