I have a family plagued with bad backs. I'm starting to get organized for our Nov 2010 family trip, and I'd love a list of hotels with confirmed "comfortable" (not rock hard) beds. We stayed at Hojo's last year and had no problems.

I thought the beds at GCH and Residence Inn Maingate were wonderful. My back gets sore after 12 hours or so with standing and had not an ache or pain in the AM.

Do not stay at the Castle Inn...... Beds like a rock.
We usually stay at Staybridge and I feel pretty good there. I have Fibromyalgia and also need a very comfortable bed!

If your willing to shell out some cash, GCA and DLH have COMFORTABLE beds!

Like so comfortable you won't want to get out of bed to go to DL!

We love PPH but there beds are NOT soft - HOJO's are much better.
We are staying at GCH next week and hope they have better beds than PPH!

If you don't want to shell out the $$ to stay on site, I would suggest either Sheraton. They are both very nice hotels with great reputations and they have the "heavenly beds". They really are super comfy.:)

HoJo has the same brand of bed as the Heavenly Beds.

Sheraton of course would, as they are Starwood along with Westin.

Hilton also has a "named" bed that was comfy.

GCH was nice, though nothing like a Heavenly Bed. Their pillows were enormous, which is a problem when you have a sensitive neck, b/c it basically caused my neck to be stretched out and head way up all night, and it was misery the next day. I managed to squish the pillow the other two nights and felt better.

GCH and DLH have beds that are very very high, and DLH's bedframes can injure you if you get off of it at the foot of the bed. GCH didn't hurt to get down, but my 5'3" self had a hard time getting up onto it; I actually had to sort of climb, and that's just silly, IMO.

Unless it's a Heavenly Bed; then I'll allow it. :)

I know this isn't the same thing you were referring to but I actually broke my little toe on a DLH bedframe!! It was the middle of the night and I was getting up to get my then 11 mo a bottle. Thought I had stubbed it but boy did it hurt! So I went into the bathroom and turned the light on - little toe was facing the wrong direction!:scared1: We then spent the night in the E.R.:sad2:

Anyway - I'm tall so the heights of the bed doesn't bother me. :)

The beds at the Ramada Maingate Premium rooms are to die for. Both my wife and I have bad backs and we had the best nights sleep every night on these beds as did our kids , most comfortable beds I have ever slept on.

I can confirm that the beds at HOJO's and at Stovall's are super-comfortable! No problems falling asleep on them, but perhaps more importantly, no problems when it was time to get up in the morning.

I can also second the previous poster who said that the beds at Castle Inn were awful. Like sleeping on rocks.

Holy cow that would suck!

On another note, the beds at DLH are pretty high...my DH and I have a humungo cal king bed that I have to jump up on to as well (5'5)...but they are oh so comfy!:cloud9:

Is this true?
So the beds at Sheraton and HoJos are the same?
Because I think the beds at Sheraton are amazingly comfy, haha. If it is true... I might just have to check out HoJos.

The beds at Hojos are the best I have ever slept in - does anyone actually know the brand etc of the beds at Hojos? I would like to buy one! :goodvibes

We have stayed at Hojo and Camelot and had no issues with the beds.

We did, however, have issues with the super fluffy Hojo pillows. We are used to memory foam.

Next year we are staying at BWPPI, and are bringing our own pillows, LOL.

Well...seeing as I'm currently laying in bed at Hojo's waiting to head to breakfast ... I can definitely attest to its comfyness...:lmao:

AND...for all who are wondering how to get this lovely mattress, the tag on my bed says:

Beautyrest World Class
Felicity 650 Plush Super Pillow Top

:thumbsup2

Thanks Imagineer5 - I would really like to buy one, but I'm not sure if they sell them in Australia. Time to do some research. :thumbsup2

Enjoy the rest of your trip! :dance3:

Does this include the beds in the pavillion buildings at Hojo's? I know they have new beds in all the other buildings except those ones and that's where we are staying in dec./jan. so I'm a little concerned about it..... maybe a king bed room would be better? (the double queens are all booked)

Are you in a king bed or queen?

I agree, the beds at the HoJo are super comfy. They are all new mattresses in the hotel. It's all I could do not to just flop on the bed and go to sleep after a long day in the park. I believe those mattresses helped keep us going in the parks for 6 days straight. I have an artificial spine in part of my back/neck, so have to sleep on a proper mattress or I would feel it the next day, and I felt excellent after sleeping on those mattresses :goodvibes
