We are looking for hotels with complementary shuttle service, and do you believe they're a good idea. Are they more crowded than the shuttle?

Candy Cane Inn has a free shuttle (well, included in your room price) and it is dedicated to only that hotel, which makes it nice. We rarely take advantage of it because it isn't that far to walk, but my elderly great aunt will want it at the end of the day when we go this summer and we did use it more when our kids were smaller--again, usually at the end of the day.

We're staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Orange, one of the few hotels that does have a free shuttle. It's further away than many but with the free shuttle, we didn't really care.

Free shuttles are great but make sure the shuttle is for your hotel only. Some hotels run shared shuttles with other hotels.

The ones I know which run their own FREE private shuttle service are:

- Sheraton Anaheim (Castle looking building)
- Candy Cane Inn

The Hyatt has their own private shuttle too but they charge $5 each day for ages 10 & up.
