I see that the Hyatt at the Orlando airport has day rates, are there any others worth checking out for our late airline departure. I saw this on another post and thought it might be a good idea for our 7 hours in between our arrival from the port and our departure. Please let me know if you have any great ideas for me!! Thanks again!

are day rates different than night rates?

do you book different? If I book on the website it is for one
night it says, is this ok? even if I check out before the night
is over?

Generally a day rate is cheaper than a regular room rate! We stayed at the Hyatt in a day room for $75.00 plus tax. I think the biggest draw for the Hyatt is that you are IN the airport which means no need to get another shuttle or anything! It was also nice because the bell closet kept all of our checked luggage and then when we were ready to go check in the bell service pushed all of it to the Delta check in curbside and then got us "bumped" up to the front of the line somehow (didn't realize it until after) but it was hassle free! I'm sure there are others out there but I can't tell you which ones.

I booked the Hyatt for 9/12 when we return from the Wonder - you can check in at 10am and check out is by 6pm - PERFECT for us for the day! and yep, Heidi - it was $75. Do they have a nice pool???:D

Kalypso--

Well after being on the Magic with 977 kids and the weather closing the pools off and on...I'd have to say the pool was HUGE! LOL

It was a typical hotel swimming pool BUT the poolside service from the restaurant was nice. DH and I sat and ate while the kids swam. I think there were 5 people in the pool and 3 of them were my kids. There was also a little cold fountain that was only about 8 inches deep but our kids had fun in there as well! It has fountains at one end of the pool that spurt out water and the kids had a blast! It was also nice that when we wanted to go back to the room we just ordered some room service and the kids ate while they watched tv! If I had to wait for a 5 pm flight that was the best way to do it that's for sure!!!!

Have fun!

Maybe this belongs on the "budget" Disney forum, but I also booked the day rate at the Hyatt and am paying for it with a free $75 Hyatt gift certificate that I earned from a point earning system on the internet.

I actually think that this will be a nice easing back into reality -- just taking it easy by the pool and relaxing for a few hours.

Last year at the end of a vacation to California we spent most of the day hanging around LAX and that was awful. I'll never do that again!

Can't believe our countdown is now in the 30's!!! Docs should be here soon :-)
