hotels walking distance from Downtown Disney?

I just discovered that our air fair is 600 bucks cheaper to fly out Friday, Nov. 29 than Saturday, Nov. 30 when our package starts at Disney. Are there any non property hotels that we can stay at that Friday night prior to our package starting that are walking distance to downtown disney. Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well! : )

There are a number of hotels on Hotel Plaza boulevard, across from DTD, that are within walking distance of DTD. They are on Disney property, but not owned by Disney. For more information on this area, check out our Orlando Hotels and Attractions board, just down the forum list a bit from this one.

In addition to those hotels, don't forget to check the Swan/Dolphin. Just click on the banner add at the top of this forum. Very convenient location.

Why not stay at the resort your package is at so you don't have to change hotels the next day? That is what we are doing? We have a room only reservation for the 14th and our package starts on the 15th.

The Wyndham is walking distance to DTD- it's practically right across the street. A 3 minute walk from Wyndham to Earl of Sandwich area of DTD.

We stay in a value the night before, this way you can utlitze DME. Its like a $40 cab ride from MCO to DTD.

We stayed at the Hilton once before our package. Very convenient to DD. We even had a wonderful buffet breakfast. Had to pay for parking which always gripes my cookies. Otherwise, we highly recommend it.
