Hello!

I have a confession to make. DD and I have only ever stayed at the hotels inside the DLR. We have never tried one outside of the DLR.

Well now that we live in our own home (we just moved from living with cousins) and I am soley responsible for all our expenses I cannot afford the DLR hotel prices.

So I am coming here to the experts. What are some good hotels (and safe) near DL?

DD and I have APs and usually only go for the day except for the night of the TOT parties. That is the one weekend I do like to stay and enjoy an overnight there. So in order to continue our tradition I need a more economical hotel to stay at.

Thanks for your help!

If you are trying to do Super Economical, there is the Motel 6. It is really friendly on the wallet but the service sucks, so I would not recommend it unless you need to.

Thanks for the info! I am trying not to have to do that but it is good to know it is an option. The DLR hotels are just too expensive for us right now.

While service is nice dd and I just need a safe and clean place to sleep. Since this our one weekend we spend at the DLR during the year we normally are at the parks most of the day.

Well I have stayed at the Motel 6 twice now... and I will give them this. It is the nicest of all the motel 6's I have ever stayed at. Very clean and safe.

Then again... I've stayed at some pretty icky motel 6's

I have too but never with my dd. lol! Those were the pre-dd days. Ahh.. the fond memories of traveling around on a shoestring budget with no thought to it really.

As long as it is clean and safe it may very well be a good alternative.

We've stayed at the Motel 6 twice & never had any problems there. We pretty much only use the room for sleeping & bathing.....so why pay for more than you need.

We've also stayed at the Tropicana Inn (which was nice), Desert Inn & Suites (which we had issues at) & the Astoria Inn & Suites (absolutely under no circumstances stay here.......GROSS!!)

Most of the motels across from the park are pretty equally matched. Lots of fav reviews for HoJo & the Fairfield Inn.

We always stay at the desert inn and suits, they have nice suits for the price of others normal rooms

There's also the Super 8 on Katella. It's not as close as some of the hotels but it was definitely within walking distance for us. I wouldn't want to walk that far for a week but for the 2 days we did it, it was fine. I don't think it's quite as cheap as the Motel 6 but I've heard it's nicer (haven't stayed at the motel 6 so I can't compare for myself). They have a free breakfast that wasn't anything spectacular but it was breakfast. They also have free parking. We stayed there during spring break for $50 a night.

We also stayed at the CCI a few weeks ago and it was great. More expensive than the super 8 but less expensive than the disney hotels. They have a good free breakfast plus a free shuttle and free parking and it's very close to the parks if you want to walk instead of taking the shuttle.

We were also die hard DLH dwellers. But on our last trip, we brought DMIL as a bday gift. To save money we looked at Harbor hotels. I was really surprised at the savings. Some (BWPP, Tropicana, Desert Inn) were actually closer to the gates than DLH. We chose Desert Inn because it ws the only hotel to gaurantee adjoining rooms. The price was crazy cheep- $129 for 2 rooms!! Very clean, close and we felt very safe

What is CCI?

We like the Tropicana, it's right across from the walk way. So you only have a few minute walk. Rooms were nice and clean, and they have a nice big pool and hot tub. Luckily all these motels are MUCH MUCH cheaper then staying on site. We love to stay onsite too, but I'd rather stay offsite if it means we couldn't go at all! :)
