Hotels or Resorts close to HH

Can anyone tell me which hotels or resorts might be fairly close to HH?

My friends may want to vacation with us and I wanted to have some lower cost alternatives in case they decide not to stay with us (in a 2BR) or rent separately from DVC.

There is a Fairfield Inn very close to the Disney property (it is right behind the Hilton Head Diner) and it usually offers very good rates. We usually stay there the night before we check into our DVC unit. It is a no-frills hotel (they do have a pool) so you might want to check elsewhere if your friends want more amenities.

I know there is a Hampton Inn right on the main access road. Most of the accomdations are high end resorts or private home rentals. I know there are other moderate end chains, but can't be sure.
