Hi!! Going to Univ. in Feb. and the rates for Royal Pacific are more than expected. I need ideas for some hotels near Universal. Any with shuttles? Thanks!!!

There's the Holiday Inn Universal, which is right across the street from Universal on Kirkman Road. I haven't heard a bad thing about it.

I just stayed at the comfort inn on sandlake road. Was only a few minutes away to universal. it is a 3 star hotel. only complaint I had was that they played the music by the pool too loud and too late but if you ask for a room facing the parking lot you won't have a problem. They also have free breakfast (bagels, cereal, etc). I beleive they had a shuttle but I had my own car so not that sure.

My opinion DO NOT stay at the holiday inn universal. Was there last year and let me tell you it stinks literally. The first room they put us in was not even cleaned and smelled really bad. Moved us to a different room this one smelled worse than the other one and it was a smoking room and you could tell. I was like a stale musty damp odor I could not stay there for 7 days. I found the radisson barcelo on i drove to be very nice. They have tower rooms (interior corridor) or what they call standard(exterior) the tower rooms are big. All rooms come with micro and small fridge. Only paid 89/night. The shuttle was on time and is one of the first stops.
