Hotels near Universal?

We are planning a day at Universal after we check out from WDW - any suggestions on a good hotel with a very short drive to Universal? I read some reviews of the Doubletree but most seem to say it's run down (which sounds unusual for Doubletree, at least in my experience). Thanks!

We love the Hyatt Place which is just across the road from Universal's Parking Garage (across the street and slightly behind the Doubletree). Rooms have a semi-separate living area and a deluxe continental breakfast is included. Best of all, it's a short drive (or walk, if you're ambitious) to the parks.

There's tons of good hotels along International Drive and Universal blvd south of Universal on the other side of I-4.Most of the good ones also have free breakfast.
