Besides the HYATT, has anyone stayed over night at any of the hotels near MCO, I mean within like 3 miles.

If so do they have shuttle service from the airport to the hotel, I was then going to get a towncar to take us to the port the next day.

We are looking at staying at the Fairfield Inn Orlando Airport or the Courtyard Orlando Airport. As far as we know they have shuttle service. Someone posted yesterday about the Hampton Inn. Do a search for that and see if you can find the thread. I know they said that one had airport shuttles.

There is a Marriot that we stayed at recently. It had a shuttle service to and from MCO. We pd $99.00 for the one night stay. It was this past Sat, right after Hurricane Charley and our flight out of MCO had been cancelled.

You can always bid on priceline. Go to biddingfortravel.com to find the latest hotels and going rates on priceline.

Embassy Suites was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Massoud, one of the shuttle drivers even took me to a convenience store to get oranje juice for REM-FAN's son. I was so completely impressed with Embassy suites, and will be forever thankful for their service.

We were very happy with the Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport back in March. It was an excellent value for just 3,000 SPG points.

At the airport, we called from a courtesy phone in the baggage claim area. We were directed to a pickup location at the curb, and we were told the wait would be 20 minutes. The shuttle was there in less than ten minutes. It was a short ride from the airport to the hotel.

I had arranged for Tiffany Towncar to pick us up at the Sheraton Suites the next morning. It was very convenient not having to go back to the airport for the trip to Port Canaveral.

We stayed at the Sheraton too. Just fine. Nice breakfast buffet there too, although not free like some hotels offer. None near Orlando airport that I know of offer free breakfast.

The Best Western Airport Inn offers a free continental breakfast. I got it for only $79 for the night prior to our cruise this February. We really wanted the Hyatt MCO but couldn't justify the expense and the free breakfast at the BW clinched the decision.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Select in November, although had I not been locked into my reservation I probably would have gone with Embassy Suites. Both offer shuttle service but from what I have read, Embassy Suites offers breakfast included in the room price--Holiday Inn Select charges $9.95 for adults (kids under 12 eat free). By the time breakfast is figured in for two adults, the rates are pretty much the same.

We are staying at Fairfield Inn Orlando Airport! Booked it sometime ago for less than $50.00!!
We've stayed at the Amerisuites before and it was very nice also!:sunny:

We stayed at Sheraton Suites (got it for $59 on Hotwire) last Sept., very nice tho you do have to pay for breakfast. Stayed at Amerisuites Airport NorthWEST in July, excellent and a super hot and cold breakfast buffet thrown in! Paid $62 for July and we staying there again Sept. 1 ($69 this time).

We are staying at the Quality Inn on McCoy Road this coming Jan 05. We got the room for 45.00 for 2 adult and 2 kids. They have a free shuttle to and from MCO along with free breakfast. We have never stayed there, but have read they it is a nice place to stay.

Best Western Airport inn
We stayed last Sept, very well kept, clean nice staff. Decent continental breakfast, free shuttle to MCO.
They even took DH back to mco in am to pick up rental car for our drive to Port.

Definately recommend, we will stay there again in 2005
Got it for $55 thru Hotelwiz.com.

Would love to stay at Hyatt but can't justify $100 plus for one night........save that extra $ for foo-foo drinks or souviners:smooth: :smooth:

Thanks for the info on Best Western Airport Inn! We've never stayed here but have heard great things! We're looking forward to our trip!! 6 months to go.....

We use Priceline to get an MCO area hotel for the night before the cruise. Usually, can get one for under $35 in the 3* category. All 3* have free shuttles to/from airport, and are very decent places. If you drop the category to 2*, you can get some less than wonderful places. For info on priceline bidding, go to www.biddingfortravel.com

I was a bit unsure the first time I did the priceline thing, but we've always been pleased. The best bargains are in cities with way too many hotel rooms (like Orlando), but you can get a deal virtually anywhere.

Whatever you do, do NOT bid below the top star level! Most of the hotels the next level down are fine (usually suites hotels), but there is a LaQuinta on Daetwyler Drive that is a SLUM. It was bad before Charley, and it's probably even worse now.
