If you stay at one of the DTD hotels (such as doubletree) do you have to pay to park when arriving at the parks?

I always thought staying at the DTD hotels saved me money...but in the end what with resort fees, taxes and transportation (from airport) I realized that I was actually paying more to stay there than at a Disney Moderate. I used the DTD Hotel bus system..but if I had to pay for park parking it would have cost me even more!!

I suggest you do a cost comparison. As I have stayed off site I am not suggesting this because I am loyal to on-site..but merely because I stayed off site in the interest of saving money and even with the Mousesavers discount..it just wasn't so.

With a lot of hunting around, I got a suite hotel in Lake Buena Vista (almost DTD) for half the price of a Dis value room. Adding $100 for a car from Thrifty and $40 for Dis parking, we're still well under what Dis resorts would've cost us. And no shuttles. And a fridge and microwave.

What's the name of your hotel?

Country Inn and Suites. Through hotelopia.com (set the currency to $ first) and using a discount code I found in this forum several pages back, I got around $45/night. Dis values were $111-121/night that week.

Thanks for that website tip. Looks like Country Inns has a price guarantee (they match it by 25%). I think I will try to go that route. Thanks again!

I had to go read up- they discount their rate 25% more than the best online quote. Wow, I wish I'd noticed that before. You have to request it within 24 hours of booking. Maybe I'll cancel my res and re-book. LOL
