Hotels near Baltimore and Washington Dc

I'm not sure if this is the right spot but we are headed to OBX this summer. I'm planning to stop in Baltimore so the kids can see the aquarium and then Washington DC to see the zoo before driving Friday night to Corolla hotel for our Saturday rental.

My husband has off the Thursday and Friday before our trip.

I need to find two nice but cheaper hotels. The one near Baltimore for Wednesday night and then the one near Washington DC for Thursday night. My kids are early risers so we plan to be at both places when they open.

Any opinions? Cheap but nice!!

There are so many options but near DC, look at Arlington/Crystal City hotels.

I was originally thinking outside Washington...not familiar with the area!!

FWIW-my 7th grader just got back from field trip to B. There is also a terrific Maryland Science Museum right next door. You might want to put that on your list. Also, if your kids are 5-10, I would add the Discovery Museum, also in the same area.

There are several hotels right in the inner harbor. I've stayed at the Sheraton for work and the Marriott that is closest to Camden Yards. Both were nice. Not sure what rates are available.

4 and 2! I've heard good things about the children's museum too. I'm thinking aquarium might be an all day thing!!
