We stayed at the Holiday inn and it was very nice. It was just a very basic hotel room but we were happy. The thing is that the room is very underwhelming but that seems to be European hotel rooms from what we can tell. We were over the moon about the breakfast buffet. It was hearty and so fresh and so much juice!!! mmmm. I loved the tiny Nutellas that were for the bread services and dinner here wasn't bad either. There's a 200 ft walk to a bar where you can get fish and chips however it was rainy and busy when we went and were denied service from them. Pretty simple ride over to the ship via taxi. It felt safe and that's what I generally look for is a place I feel ok.We are on a cruise leaving from Southampton in aug.
I asked our TA for hotel recommendations
And she suggested Holiday inn. Double Tree. Or Leonardo.
Anyone familiar with any of these
or any other hotels
Thanks

Disney use Horizon cruise Terminal. That hotel would be too far to walk but would be fine if using a taxi.We stayed at the Southampton Harbor Hotel before our Norwegian Fjord cruise. Very nice, modern hotel right on the water.
That is an easy walk to Horizon cruise terminal. The shopping centre is called West Quay.I've stayed at the Leonardo Royal Grand Harbor twice, which has helpful staff, decent rooms and a restaurant with a good breakfast. It is conveniently located within walking distance of a shopping mall and historic areas. It may technically be walkable to the port area, but we have taken a taxi, scheduled a few weeks in advance.
Which cruise terminal did your ship leave from? I would say thats a 20 minute walk to Horizon cruise terminal which Disney use.We stayed at room2 south hampton. Great room great prices and we choose to walk to the ship instead of taking a taxi. Took us about 10 minutes.
Thats a very central hotel for sightseeing in Southampton, but I agree, a taxi would be needed to get to Horizon cruise terminal. We stayed at the Premier Inn Southampton Cumberland Place. It was cheap, clean, and convenient to everything we wanted to do. We payed the extra for breakfast and it was well worth it. We didn't have to hunt down food each morning and it was a big, fresh and hearty breakfast. It was an easy walk most places. We did take a taxi to the port with our luggage but it was cheap. Premier Inn is my go-to when we travel to the UK.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night before our TA a few years ago. We were there the same weekend as the Southhampton boat show so it was incredibly busy (the boat show was basically right across from the hotel) so we didn't actually leave the hotel. But there was a nice restaurant in the hotel where we had dinner (I can't remember what we had, but I assume it was okay because I would've remembered if it was bad) and breakfast was quite nice.
I tried to call for a taxi to take us to the port and they said they had no availability but the hotel had a special magic taxi phone in the lobby and when I used that, they sent a car within 5 minutes. It wasn't far to the cruise terminal but I would say NOT walkable (NOT walkable from any hotel, IMO), though I did see people doing it. We could see the ship from our room (barely).
All in all, I'd stay there again.
If you want some reviews on Southampton hotels, TravelblogJamie on YouTube has reviewed a lot of different hotels in Southampton. Might be worth a look.

The hotel offers a shuttle to the terminal. I forget if there was a charge...Disney use Horizon cruise Terminal. That hotel would be too far to walk but would be fine if using a taxi.
