Any suggestions for hotels in San Juan that are close to the port and affordable

The most convenient one is the Sheraton Old San Juan. The price isn't bad compared to all the luxury hotels around but the Sheraton is right across from the cruise ships.

We stayed at Hotel Casablanca. A few blocks from the port ... A smaller boutique hotel. Very convenient location, we walked to both forts from there. We woukd definitely stay there again. Prices were reasonable when we were there, but we were also off-season mid-Sept so it can vary.
