Hotels in Plymouth

Hi

My dad has just been admitted to St Lukes Hospice in Turnchapel, just outside of Plymouth as he has terminal cancer. Does anybody know of any good hotels near there as although they live in Hope Cove it's too much travel for my mum as she does not drive.

Thanks, really appreciate the good wishes as it's tough at the moment. The bad thing about all of this is that my parents have been trying to move back to Ascot for over a year now as my three sisters and I all live within a 10 mile radius. Unfortuantely they just cannot sell their lovely house in Hope Cove as it's 70% 2nd homes and they're mostly owned by bankers, so property is just so slow moving.

We have now found a hotel, the Astor on Plymouth Hoe and my sisters and I will be going on Friday.

That's what I love about these boards, people support each other.

Looks as though you are sorted now but just wanted to add that we have stayed at several hotels around the Plymouth area (we have family in Horrabridge) and the Future Inn was by far our favourite. Very clean, modern, comfortable, big rooms and good food. We haven't stayed at the Astor so can't comment on that.

So sorry to hear your news I live in Plymouth and there is a pub that offers rooms called the mount batten they are situated about five min drive from the Hospice . For details go to www.hotelmountbatten.co.uk or ring 01752 484660 hope this helps , the astor hotel is good but is a drive across plymouth to get to the hospice .
