Hotels In Miami?

Hi Everyone!

We are going on the Magic in November 2013 and I am looking for recommendations for a hotel. We are hoping to go 2 days before sailing which will allow us one full day in Miami to lounge around.

Also, if you stayed in the hotel prior to the cruise what did you find as the best means to get to port on the morning of sailing? What about from the airport to the hotel?

And finally, has anyone heard of any hotels in Miami doing day rates similar to the Hyatt at MCO (this might be helpful at the end of our cruise)?

Comfort Suites Miami Airport North. One of the cleanest, brightest hotels I've ever stayed at with great staff. They offer a free shuttle to and from the Miami airport and the port. My only complaint was that they did not have proper sheets for the baby's crib.

According to their website, they only offer free return shuttle from the port if you are staying after your cruise. Since we are looking for a hotel in Miami, I emailed them to find out how much return transfers are if you don't stay after the cruise. I'll post when I get a response.

I stayed at the Hampton inn in blue lagoon, very nice, grocery store directly across the street. The hotel had a free shuttle from the airport and had a special $10 shuttle to the port. Nice hotel, very clean, very nice staff and a free breakfast.
