Hotels how early?

How early must we book our hotel? I looked at one that was right across the street and they didn't have any rooms that i needed for August already!

For hotels I find that earlier is usually better. Prices simply follow supply. They don't adjust prices with complicated sytems like airlines. Although Disney does, but not independents and franchises surrounding the area.

We always book in Jan if we are going in August. The Harbor hotels fill up early, also people make multiple reservations and decide on one at a later date.
