Hotels for D23 expo

Just wondering has anyone had any experience with paying for a hotel but showing up a day late? I tried to modify my Hilton Anaheim reservation online and if I adjust it the price goes from 259 a night to 380 a night :scared:. I know they still have rooms because it offers me the same exact room just at a higher price. Since the One day will cost much less then the added cost of switch to a shorter reservation (almost 500 less for 1 extra day haha) then we are just paying for the extra day. Just wondering if anyone has done that at a Hilton before. We don't want to prepay then show up to Anaheim and have no room.

I would call them and explain that you want to drop a day. They will most likely be able to do it.

I booked the Best Western Stovall's. Never stayed there before, hope it will be good. We shouldn't have a car so I'm glad we won't need to pay for parking. To be honest, I liked Stovall's location because it looks like it would be a nice walk to the convention center and a not bad walk to Trader Sam's.

What would you do? Going to first D23 Expo, booked Hilton across from convention during Thursday- Sunday and planning on coming in Wednesday early 9am. I have a reservation at Paradise Pier for one night to enjoy the Disney atmosphere but since they changed the entrance via the Grand Californian I am wondering if it is worth it. We won't be there during a DCA EMH so it really doesn't benefit us.
We fly in early Wednesday morning so I figure I will have most the day Wednesday and Thursday for the parks. My plan was to stay Wednesday at PP and leave luggage to pick up later to head to Hilton. Now I am unsure. I really just want quick access to the park for those 2 days.

PS- Have been to Disneyland before - planning on just hitting up what we love to do and new stuff.

1. Would you keep it as is enjoy Disney atmosphere anyway
2. Move to Hilton for whole time.
3. Move to hotel like Park Vue Inn for the first night (cheaper and closer to park)

Thanks for the input.

Depending on when you booked moving to the Hilton could completely change your cost. We tried making an adjustment to our Hilton stay and it went up about 100%.
