Hi everyone!

We have finally booked next years trip, and evern though its a looooooong way away I have the "planners urge" upon me!

Usually we stay at a B&B at Gatwick the night before flying, who pick us up outside arrivals, saving us having to wait and jostle for a bus, and then go around a million other hotels before we get to ours (can you tell we had a bad experience with that once?!)!! As we are flying to New York before Orlando we will be flying from Heathrow next year instead. Can anyone recommend any hotels / B&B's in the area - no more that 4 miles out (I like to feel I am close enough to walk in case of emergencies!!). Ideally a hotel / B&B which has its own bus or car service rather than sharing with other hotels, to save the problems mentioned above!

Thanks!:thumbsup2

We like the Sheraton Skyline - wonderfully comfy beds, a nice sports bar and a fabulous tropical pool. Just 1/2 mile from T3.

We stay at the Holiday Inn on the corner of Sipson Way and Bath Road (not the big main one). When you check in just tell them you want a taxi in the morning and they will add your name to the list. It is pricey though - it cost us £12 from the hotel to terminal 5 a couple of weeks ago - but they do use high quality cars.

Have you thought about Yotel? We have stayed at the Gatwick one (and will be again this year) - they are within the airport (so you can just fall out of bed and check in :rotfl:).

£80 for an over night stay in a premium pod - they are small but me and DF find them fun :lmao: Have a look at www.yotel.com

We're flying in Via New York in a couple of weeks we've booked the Holiday Inn just off M4 as it was only £65 online with up to 15 nights parking free :thumbsup2

The last couple of times we've flown from Heathrow we've stayed at the travelodge, you can usually pick it up at £19 if you book far enough in advance. We've stayed at the new terminal 5 one and although it was newer I prefer the location to the other one, it has a shuttle although we've never used it.
There's a great pub on the corner too about a 5 min walk. :goodvibes

We stay at the Hilton at Heathrow. It is connected to terminal 4 so if you are flying from another terminal you walk to 4 and take the free train to the other terminal.

Thanks very much everyone! Will have a look at them all! Do you all park at the hotels as well, or do you find it cheaper to book parkign seperately?

We use the hotel parking at the Skyline as we only live around an hour away and we get a good night's sleep on the aircraft.
