Hi just hoping for a few opinions.

We have neem visiting orlando every year for the past 6 years and always stay at Fairfield inn, marriott village lake buena vista. When my husband booked last time it wasn't available and so this time we will be visiting the courtyard (still in the same complex just a different hotel)
We like this hotel, we love the location, we do not drive but have shuttles laid on to the disney parks, DTD is a short taxi away, we are walking distance from the Premium outlets (and from the back of these we get on the Iride to seaworld and universal) and also in walking distance from a few restaurants (Lonestar, Long horns, Outbacks, etc) and so we feel this is absolutely ideal. Oh and my DD loves Golden Corral for breakfast each morning for the bacon!!!!
On looking for next year this hotel (complex) is not available and so we are going to have to look at another hotel. The thing is I really love the location of the hotel so just wondering if anyone can recommend any in the same area.
We always travel with virgin, so I am assuming this hotel is just not available through virgin any longer.

I can highly recommend the Hyatt Grand Cypress, walking distance of Downtown Disney, Crossroads, TGI Fridays and loads of other restaurants, Stayed there 4 times and if i wasn't staying in Disney this year id be staying there again :thumbsup2

For being able to walk to restaurants and having decent shuttles to the Disney parks (and not paying on site Disney prices) I would recommend looking also at any of the Downtown Disney hotels. I've only stayed at the Doubletree (which is close to walk to the Crossroads shopping center, and it is comprised of all suites) and one night at the Royal Plaza (had a good deal but then moved to the Swan).

We also like the Swan and Dolphin, so you can walk to Epcot! Sometimes you can find excellent deals to stay there.

I am very close to booking this for Thanksgiving week from booking.com, if we can get points to rent.
ANY negatives?
How is the shuttle, multiple time drop offs and pick ups?

Sorry I posted this and then had a manic week and forgot to check back.

Firstly shopn24seven....

We haven't stayed in the courtyard, we usually stay in the Fairfield inn which I love, but for some reason this year it wasn't available through our usual tour operator and so we have ended up booking the Courtyard, which is actually nicer I think. It seems more like a business hotel, we always use the pool for hat one as you are allowed to use e facilities in all 3.

The shuttle times are sort of 8.00/9.00/10.00 a.m I think, and then various pickups at night. Usually very good, though last time there was a bit of a mix up and it was an absolute pain. Basically years ago they used to use the big mears buses for shuttles but last time it was the small white minivan type things, and ere would be like 20 of us waiting and 1 minivan would turn up!!! Now you book your shuttle and when you get on you have to tell them what time you are returning - they used to pick up at different parks but I think last time they only collected from Epcot so everyone who had gone out would have to get themselves to Epcot and you just had to log what time you would return and get there. But they never had enough vans to collect, it was a nightmare. But I have stayed ere 6 or 7 times and never had that problem before.
I would totally recommend this hotel and the whole Marriot village.

We have ended up booking the Sheraton vistana, just around the corner from Publix. Thing is we love that area and like that we can get on the Iride to get us to universal and seaworld whereas the downtown disney hotels we would have to get taxis up there.

I believe I saw they charge a parking fee now. You might want to double check. That's a turn off to me to be honest.

I am staying at the Hyatt for a conference in March and am definitely hoping to get some park time in. I have been doing some research and it seems that they don't have very flexible transportation. I would love to get some more information about your stay and experience. How long is the walk to Downtown Disney?
