Hi there,

Can anyone recommend accomodations around Disneyland? I'd something more on the nicer side (don't want to worry about bedbugs, etc.). Looking for one night as we'll be traveling from East Coast but staying with inlaws in San Diego so doing DL for 2 days and need hotel for one night. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Can you give some preferences to narrow the list down? Otherwise each person here will have their favorite and the list will be long!

How many adult/child in your party?
Do you need onsite, walking distance, shuttle (ART) or drive from hotel to DLR?
Do you have a budget in mind?
What is the date you're staying?

We'll be going sometime during the week of Sept 22nd. I'm not sure about the driving or walking and I've no idea on what hotels around there costs, much less a decent/clean one. There will be 3 adults and one 5 yr old. This will be only our second trip to Disneyland, the last time we went for a day when he was 2. We'll be spending the night this time and doing 2 days though. I'm going out on a limb and saying $125 a night?? $150? Sorry.:confused3 Don't even know if that's too little for that area. Any info would be appreciated though.

HI, we just got back from DL, and we stayed at the Hampton Inn (Garden Grove, 1 mile from DL), which may be within the price range you described.

Since you mentioned 3 adults and a 5 year old, I thought maybe our arrangement may be something you would consider:

our room at the Hampton Inn on the website is called the "Family Room" I believe. It is one room, but there is a divider wall--running the length of the bed, but not all the way down the room. So on one side is a queen or king bed, and on the other side is a twin bed, but we also had a rollaway bed brought in, which was a twin size as well. (If you look on this website for this room, it may say it has two small beds on the other side of the divider, which is one reason why we booked it, but they had remodeled since our reservation, so when we got there they provided us with a rollaway).

So, maybe the one bed will work with 2 adults and the twin plus the rollaway for your family?

There is breakfast provided, and the shuttle leaves every 30 minutes, and only goes to Hampton Inn and the Embassy Suites right next to it, so you get to DL and back quickly.

Good luck in searching for a hotel--it was very confusing for us trying to figure one out. We were happy with the one we chose, and I hope you will like the one you choose too!

What shuttle service did you use and how much did it cost? How late after the parks closing did the shuttles run?

We always stay at the Ramada Maingate on Harbor Blvd. We love it! Great free breakfast every morning. Free parking. Nice and clean rooms. Great mini marts and restuarants right there!:cool1: Oh and great prices.

IMO and most here *I imagine* it is so much better to stay within walking distance.

Also bed bugs do not discriminate, they don't care how dirty or clean you are so long as you're breathing! Even the nicest place can get bed bugs.

BeckWhy,

THe shuttle we used was the one that picked up the Hampton Inn.
I believe it was $9/adult for three days, and $7 for our 5 year old, 2 year old was free.

The shuttle ran 45 minutes before the park opening, and if it is a magic morning hour, it does run 45 minutes before that opening.

The shuttle runs 1 hour after park closing.
