I'm thinking of booking the HOJO with a Disney view for next years trip to Disneyland, anyone stayed there?

Both times we have been we stayed at the HoJo. Paid about £35/night good value hotel but we used none of the facilities, couldn't even tell you what the pool looks like. Slightly larger than usual rooms I seem to remember.
As for A Disney view, not sure, the rooms to the left of the hotel overlooking Disney might get some kind of view but there is a big wall all the way around Disneyland, can't see it being a great view.

We just returned on Saturday - we were there for 13 nights in total. We have the premium Disney view room and I can tell you, it was enormous - the biggest room we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few WDW and Universal hotels. The rooms are really nice too - our room was 1613 on the 6th floor (there are 7 floors in total in this block) and we had a great view of the Disney fireworks - there are some trees surrounding Disneyland park but you can still get a great view - we could see the Matterhorn directly in front of our room, TOT (at California Adventure) and the Fun Wheel etc. Also you could see the monorail going past every so often - loved to sit on the balcony with these views. The hotel (and especially Block 1 where the Premium rooms are) are set back from Harbour Bvd but you can still hear the freeway even though the room was away from that road (although the room was pretty well insulated).

Other comments - staff very helpful, pools were smaller than expected - no lifeguards like WDW hotels and people tended to 'save' them with pool towels - either that or they couldnt be bothered moving them when they left -. We spent a bit of time rould the 'quiet' pool - the kids pool area we didnt use (DD is 16) but looked fun but much smaller than it looks on the website. We could see both pools from our balcony.

We booked the Annual Pass rate for a 20% discount but you need to look for dates that pop up on the HoJo website which are 50% off - we only managed to get 4 at 50% but the price was still very reasonable for our stay.

If you have any other specific questions, please ask.

Do 50% off rates pop up a lot then? We have set dates of when we are going.

not till April so am in no rush to book just trying to spread the cost about. 6th April to 9th April, 3 nights. Ebookers through Quidco is the cheapest I found last night but I didn't look for long.

We re planning on visiting DLR for the first time in either next April/May. All depending on when we can get Entertainment Rate discount for Hojo. Dates at moment only go as far as Jan so am hoping they ll release more soon.
Apparently with the Ent rate discount u can get a standard room for around $59 & a premium room for $79 ( not Inc tax).
From all the research I vd done Hojo looks amazing & gets outstanding reviews.

Am just keeping fingers crossed when dates r released we ll b able to get 1s we re hoping for using the discount

Can't see any bargains but its very early yet, as above probably best waiting for a better rate.

I emailed them this week actually, because we're thinking of booking there next June. They told me they release rates at about 9 months out.

What is the Entertainment Rate discount?

Thanks Wayne :thumbsup2

I contacted them via their website. If you put HoJo Anaheim in google the hotel has it's own website, seperate from the main HoJo one. I was told on the DL forum that you have to call to get the entertainment rate though. I am weighing that discounted rate against the free breakfasts at the Candy Cane Inn and Park Vue... all 3 seem to get equally good reviews!

Yes you do call them to get the rate - Entertainment rate gives 15% and AP gives 20% - when the 50% rates are available, Lorealle from HoJo posts on the HoJo forum and keeps this up to date.

How many nights you will get at 50% is a gamble - we went in July - last July I would have got a week's worth so hoped for that this year but only got 4 days in the end - but the parks are busier due to World of Color. If you choose a different month, you may have better luck - this November, for example, almost all dates are at 50%. If you are planning to visit the parks for more than 6 days, then buy the AP as more cost effective - if not you can get an Entertainment card on e-Bay.

You can reserve your room - we did - you just give them your card details but they don't take any payment until you check out at the hotel - at least you know you've got the room you want and then apply the discounted rates as they come available. You can cancel up to 7 or 14 days, can't remember but it's close! without any charge. Seems to be common for Americans to make more than one booking with more than one hotel in this way until they make their mind up where they want to stay.

Do I need to go on eBay.com rather than co.uk, how do I know i've got the right card?

You can buy an Entertainment card for any area - you don't need a book - cheaper that way - I only paid a couple of pounds which included shipment from the US.

I had bought an Entertainment card first then later decided to go for Deluxe AP's so didnt need the Entertainment card and won't need it now before it expires at the beginning of November - I would have sent you mine but you'll need one for next year. I went on ebay.co.uk - went into advanced search and searched for the cards - soemtimes it doesnt say whether they'll ship overseas - I just sent them a message and they said they would and gave me postage costs - really easy.

On that note if anyone in the UK is going soon and you need an Entertainment card for any reason, pm me and I'll send you mine. There are a lot of discounts in the book but there are a few online you don't need the book for and you don't need the book for hotel discounts as a HoJo.
