I found an awesome rate for Comfort Suites Maingate East through Hotelmart USA. I was wondering did anyone ever book through them and can you just pay the deposit and pay the balance due at check in? Also does anyone know the cancellation policy. I can't seem to find it on the site.

Thanks!

I have not used Hotelmart, but I have used their rates. If you find a better rate on the Hotelmart site, book through the choiceshotels.com site, then go to the "best rate guarantee" section, fill in the form and within a day choicehotels will send you an e-mail lowering your rate to 10% less than the rate listed at the other website (Hotelmart). It worked great for me and I didn't have to worry about the policies of Hotelmart.

I have used hotelmartusa and I have been happy with them.

used a credit card.

got the Laquinta lakeside for $22.00 once!

I had the same question. Has anybody used Hotelmart, and more importantly, has anyone ever had to cancel with them?

Their rates seem to be excellent, but we are booking two weeks, and the cancellation policy is never clearly stated. In fact the total price is never clearly stated either. It just says "plus applicable taxes" on the credit card page. I am leary of giving my credit card to a site with no final total and no specific cancellation policy.

Anybody with past experience here?
THANKS! :D

I used HotelMart last year. I booked with them and also cancelled with them.

First, I booked a hotel, then decided against it. So I called and had absolutely no problem cancelling. They credited back my $22 almost immediately.

Then I booked the Comfort Suites Maingate East and had no problems upon check in. Now I do need to note that we called the hotel directly before our trip just to make sure everything was ok with our reservation.

There were no "hidden" fees upon checkout. Hotelmart has you put a $22 deposit when you book your room. So you owe the balance of your stay plus tax. We had no hidden charges or outrageous fees added on.

In fact the woman at the front desk told us we were smart to use Hotelmart because it is such a low rate. They are very familiar with the company and have no problems processing your reservation since they work with Hotelmart on such a high volume basis.

I would recommend them to anyone. The only advice I have..and we do this for all of our reservation no matter who the are made through...is call the hotel direct before you leave for your trip to confirm that you have the right room with the right price.

Have fun!! :D

Thanks, Gingermommy! I feel much better, knowing a real person who has used them with success. Good advice to call the hotel ahead. Thank you very much for your input! :D

I just booked with HotelmartUSA but by calling their toll free number after finding what I wanted on their website. (1-888-579-1054) I spoke with Nicole who was absolutely wonderful to work with. For the hotel I booked, the hotel required that I be charged for the whole amount up front. Nicole told me the cancellation policy is full refund with cancellation within 72 hours of check in. It was so easy to deal with her and she made it so simple. She was a great help. I told her how much I appreciated it, as I had had a bad experience with Easyclick Travel.

I have booked many times through HotelmartUSA and have never had a problem. Infact everything has always been perfect with great service.I had to cancel once and was refund immediately with no hassle. They don't even charge a cancellation fee. Would highly recommend.

I used them twice 1st time US hotel no problem, 2nd time hotel in Europe, charged me in Dollars instead of Euros as stated on the booking. Difference was about $70, after 3-4 months of emails and promises of refund I never got it. Would use again for US hotels.

I have also used Hotelmart. We rented a villa at Fantasy World Villas and that particular property required us to pay in full at the time of the reservation. It clearly stated in the description that the price included taxes and there were no hidden fees at all. They have a 72 hour cancellation policy. We booked with them again for this February and since we are coming from Maine we called and confirmed their cancellation policy. They assured us that if we got snowed in up here, we would get a refund based on the 72 hour timeline. We didn't need to go to the check in counter for this property because their was a lock box for the key but my husband was curious about the property and was asking them some questions. They asked us out of curiosity how much we paid and when we told them $69 including taxes, they were impressed because they get $120 or more a night. I wouldn't hesitate to use them if I were you.

Definitely book the room through the choicehotels.com site first. Then go back and click on the 'Best Internet Rate Guarantee' button on the choichotels.com home page. You then provide them with the pricing that hotelmartusa.com gives. They will verify it and give you 10% off the Hotelmart price. I have done this and it works. Good luck.

CS Maingate East came up as $77 for sun and $85 for the rest of the week for our trip dates. Is that a good rate? I was thinking of doing the Cypress Pointe. How do these hotels compare?

MaggieW - I have stayed at both the Comfort Suites and Cypress Pointe. They are really very different.

Comfort Suites offers large rooms - like a studio. They have 2 doubles and a pull out sofa, table, mini kitchen area with small frig and microwave, and a bathroom. A decent breakfast is also included at CS.

Cypress Pointe is a timeshare community and they offer units of differing sizes - studios, 2 BRs, etc.

They are both conveniently located. You will probably get more space at Cypress Pointe depending on which room configuration you choose, but the rooms at CS are nice too, and the breakfast is a wonderful bonus.

We like them both.

Thanks. We have 2 children so we would probably reserve a 2 bedroom at Cypress Pointe which is $93.22 for our dates which comes out to a total of $372.88 (plus tax) for the week. The CS would be $332 for the week (plus tax). I guess we would get more room at Cypress Pointe, but we would get the free breakfast at CS. Hmm. More to think about.

I have booked through HotelmartUSA and through Choice for the guarantee at Comfort Suites Maingate East. However HotelmartUSA have a block of rooms that they have prebought and are theirs to use. They are all poolside and non smoking. When i booked through Choice i got a smoking room and could not change. I since have booked through HotelmartUSA as it is sooo hassle free. Also they remember you and have often upgraded me free of charge for being a repeat HotelmartUSA user.

I just booked this property yesterday through HotelmartUSA.com. Very interesting...I was prepared just to "use" their price to get a better rate for New Year's Eve on the Choice hotels site (Best Rate Guarantee). However, the choice hotels site said they could not book the room for that date online so I would have to call the hotel directlyto check for availability. I called the hotel directly and was quoted a rate of $159 + tax. I opted to book through HotelmartUSA and got the room for $134 + tax. I had to pay in full. I'm not sure if I had to pay in full because it is for New Year's Eve or because Hotelmart always has to charge up front for the Comfort Suites Maingate East.

I have a great story about Hotelmartusa and what wonderful customer service they have. Earlier this year some friends and I wanted to take a weekend trip to South Beach Miami... we didn't care where we stayed, we just wanted some place cheap. We had found a good cheap rate for some hotel through Hotelmartusa, we booked our room through them for $69 and they gave us a confirmation number to verify our reservations. When we got to the hotel, the front desk said they had no such reservation for us, and that all their rooms were booked. As you can imagine, we were not very happy about this, and the front desk was not being helpful in any way. We called hotelmartusa right away and told them of the situation...we gave them our confirmation # and they were able to pull up all our info and confirmed that they had in fact booked a room for us at this hotel. However, the hotel still pointed fingers at hotelmartusa saying they never booked our reservations. We waited an hour in the hotel lobby going back and forth until hotelmartusa told us they'd call us back in a few minutes. Sure enough they did...they had managed to book us a room at the Loews Hotel...one of the nicest hotels on the whole strip! The best part, is that they were still only charging us the $69 that we had been quoted on for the other hotel...mind you rooms at Loews go for around $200 a night! Hotelmartusa definitely came through for us and made our weekend in Miami truly an unforgettable one that we got to spend in an absolutely beautiful and luxurious hotel!
