Friends of mine and our daughters are going to Orlando for a weekend trip at the end of July. It is 4 moms and 4 7-year old girls. We were thinking about getting two connecting hotel rooms, but then thought it might be cheaper to find one unit that slept all eight of us. any recommendations? Also, close to Sea World would be helpful. We will be going to Aquatica one day. Thanks so much!

Pull up a map of Kissimmee and find where 192 crosses I4. Anything west of that intersection is, IMHO, the best location to find a villa. It will be difficult this late - you may have to go all the way out to Rt27 area of Davenport. And all of the best prices will be gone. Search VRBO or Homeaway. Good luck!

suggest you look at timeshares rental - especially for near SW.

forgot a big one - but you are probably way to late for it

Since it's just a weekend trip, I would recommend a hotel suite over a timeshare or townhouse rental. Many of those properties are "self-catering," meaning you get a starter set of supplies such as toilet paper, soap, etc. If you run out, you would need to replace them yourselves, meaning a run to a store or bringing them in your suitcase. Also, quite a few of the places charge a cleaning fee if you stay less than seven nights. For a quick weekend trip, I think you would be most comfortable in a hotel suite with daily housekeeping and a free breakfast. Try looking at places such as Quality Inn and Suites, Staybridge Suites, Springhill Suites, Hawthorne Suites, and Homewood Suites. Some have multiple locations around the Orlando area. Also try doing a search on hotels.com or Orbitz.com so you can quickly compare hotels and their rates. Many hotels that come up on the search will include options for suites with multiple beds and two bathrooms.

For SeaWorld and Aquatica I would go with Marriot's Residence Inn. You can get two bedrooms with each having two Queen beds for a total of 4 beds. Between the bedrooms there is a living room and a small kitchen. Each bedroom has a full bathroom. The living room sofa is a sleeper bed. Each bedroom has it's own TV and the living room has a larger TV.

The breakfast is absolutely wonderful. There are hot items to please everyone. The breakfast is so good and plentiful that we only have a dinner; we don't eat a lunch.

These family suites are not cheap, but when you consider the cost of two, separate resort rooms it is cheaper overall.
