Hello there. First time poster here so apologies if this question has been asked before ;)

We're going to DL Paris (for the 4th time) in October and are on a budget. We are trying to decide between the Santa Fe or the Thomas Cook Explorers hotel (my daughter is really into pirates :thumbsup2).

The deciding factor for us is the transportation between the parks and the hotels. We could obviously walk back to Santa Fe if need be but were wondering what time (and how frequently) the shuttle bus runs to the Explorer hotel.

We're coming by Eurostar and (I think) can get our bags taken straight to the hotel for us so we can go straight into the park. If not can someone please remind me where we can catch the hotel buses from outside the parks?

Many thanks :cool2:

the shuttle buses between all the associated hotels (which includes the Explorers) run from 6am right through to very late evening (ie around midnight) every day. The buses run at 20 minute intervals, and you can get a shuttle schedule from your hotel check-in.

The big difference between onsite and offsite, as you say, is that you can walk to the Santa Fe in around 15 minutes once you're out of the parks. You'd need to add another 10 minutes or so walk from the Santa Fe to the associated hotels (they are situated at the end of the road and across the carriageway from the onsite hotels). Also, each onsite hotel has its own shuttle, which rarely has to visit any other hotel on its journey back and forth all day. The associated hotels share one shuttle usually, except at peak times when they may lay on one shuttle for 2 hotels instead of 4.

Having said that, the Explorers is usually first drop-off and first pick-up for the shuttles, and certainly when we stayed there, we had no problems at all getting on and off the shuttles (we were there midweek in low season).

All the shuttle buses are situated right outside the train station at the gates of DLP - you will see the bus stops through the glass doors on your left as you start coming out of the train station. The onsite hotels bus stops are on the same side of the road as the train station, the offsite and associated hotels bus stops are straight across the road from the onsite ones.

we stayed at the explorers and loved it. the theming was great and staff were fantastic. we found the room to be very comfortable and as its off site you get more for your money, so kettle and supplies were in the room. the best thing was a good indoor softplay area and a fantastic pool. we had so much fun in the pool. the life gaurds were far more relaxed than here, so we could go down the slides with the kids.

any questions, just ask.
