Hotel transfers and car seats?

I'm hoping somebody has an answer or two for me... We are planning a trip to DL in October. Originally we were going to drive, but now that we've won the trip, we are going to fly. My kids will be 8 and 4 when we go. We don't need car seats for the airplane. The prize includes airport transfers. What kind of vehicles do they use for the transfers, and do you think they have car seats available, even if we have to rent them just for the transfer?

Thanks for your help.

You'll need to contact them to find out how they will be transporting you, as there is no official Disney transportation. If it's on a bus-type vehicle, you won't need carseats. If it's a taxi or shuttle van, you will, and in those cases you would have to make prior arrangements with the company specifically or bring your own. The new rule is under 8 and under 4'9" need a rear carseat or booster (if you're child is less than 8 but is taller than 4'9" then a rear seatbelt is fine.)

Have you been to WDW? If not you should use this opportunity to go.

If you fly to SNA(Orange County/John Wayne) or LAX, you can take the Disneyland Resort Express which is a bus so childseats not needed.

I know, I know, we should have picked the WDW trip, but we were already planning a trip to DL with another family for October, so when I won the trip I asked my husband which one we should do, and he said WDW, which I agreed with, but I had a couple of reservations: our son will only be 4, and I really want him to remember the trip when we go to WDW. We've never been there, so I know we would want to stay more days, and hit Universal to see the Harry Potter thing.

My thinking was why not use the trip for DL, so we don't have to scrimp and save to have a good time, let's use the prize for that trip and have a GREAT time. When we are back to a 2 income house, and the kids are older, we will do WDW. If we hadn't already been planning the DL trip, we'd have probably chosen the WDW option and just hoped that Jason actually remembered some of it.

Thanks for the info on California's booster seat laws. I thought it was pretty similar to what the NHTSB, or whatever their acronym is, recommended. Arizona is talking about changing theirs from 5 to 8, and a whole bunch of people are complaining because their short kids would have to go back in boosters. My daughter is almost 7 1/2 and still uses her Britax booster with the 5 point harness.

What is the Disneyland Resort Express (I get that it's a bus)? Is it for Disney hotels only, or all the hotels around Disneyland? We also have to figure out how to get the other family to the hotel, so we were hoping Disney would work with us to include transfers for them.

I've never flown into John Wayne. I've done Burbank, LAX and Ontario. How far is John Wayne from Disneyland?

Thanks for all your help! Believe me, a free trip to WDW was considered, but for the sake of our savings account, we went with DL.

Disneyland Express is not just for onsite. The rest of your group can ABSOLUTELY arrange their own rides with the same company. No problem.
