Hotel toiletries

Seeing all the toiletries in dypsy’s shopping thread made me laugh. When we stayed in the Santa Fe the other week for 5 nights there was one shower gel bottle and two soaps on the first day. Now we get straight into the toiletries rather than save them but nothing was ever replaced and the two used soaps remained in the bathroom throughout our stay despite looking smaller and sadder each day! Obviously we had our own things with us but I thought it was a rather mean policy not to refresh toiletries each, or indeed any day.

I have stayed in other Disney hotels but don't remember being "rationed" before!

we were at the Santa Fe in March - niece took all the toiletries out of the bathroom as souvenirs on our first evening (well apart from a bar of soap) and we got a complete set of replacements the next day. I remember doing the same at the Newport Bay too.

In my experience Housekeeping will always deliver them to your room if you have not had replacements. When we were at the Cheyanne I hadn't taken shampoo and bubbles and were relying on them. Ours weren't replenished but there was no problem when asking. They are mor than willing to replace.

I back that up about the hotels willing to replace them if the maid doesn't - though i must admit, we helped ourselves at the Cheyenne a few years back due to the maid being in the corridor and just told us to take some :rolleyes1

We always take ours out of the bathroom everytime we go into the room, and have never had a problem getting them replaced :)

It didn't worry me too much at the time - I just thought they were a bit stingy! - it was dypsy's photo that reminded me. If it happens next time I'll know to request toiletries now although I don't feel I should have to. The Santa Fe may be the least expensive of the on-site options but I don't want to be made to feel I am staying in a budget hotel when I am paying Disney prices. No other complaints though, we enjoyed the Santa Fe.

When we stayed in Santa Fe they didnt replenish the toiletries at all, though I am sure if we had asked we could have got some more.

On our last visit we stayed at Sequoia and hid the toiletries every morn before leaving for the parks, then housekeeping would come in while we were out and replenish them. This way we got a new set each day. :thumbsup2

just pondering .... maybe they didn't replenish your supplies cherry because you were using them and hadn't finished them yet? Maybe they would have been replaced once you had empty bottles in the bin? I think thats possibly why we've always had them replaced - as there is no evidence whatsover that they've been there in the first place :lmao:.
