Hotel/Ticket Package Question

I'm not sure exactly where to post this, but I am planning a trip for a friend and have a question since we don't normally do packages. They are booking 4 night stay with 7 day ticket package, as they are staying at another hotel the first 2 nights. Can they use their tickets from my package before they check in? Is there anything special they need to do to "activate" them? Thanks!

They can use the ticket portion of their package earlier than their Disney check in date, but I believe if its part of a package they have to go to a Guest Relations outside the park to activate them. Not sure they can book FPs for those earlier days during the 60 day window, though. They might need to wait til 30 days? Somebody else will come along who knows for sure.

As minnie mum stated, they can activate their tickets early by going to Guest Relations.

They cannot pre-book FPs for the park days prior to their package stay. They will have to wait until they activate their tickets and then book their FPs as soon as possible.

You may want to suggest that they not book a package and purchase their tickets separately. With separate tickets, they can book FPs for all their offsite and onsite park days when they are 60-days out from their onsite check-in day.
