Hotel suggestions south of Atlanta

We are driving to Orlando from the Chicago area in June. We plan to drive until right outside of Atlanta and then get a hotel room. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of a good place to stay. Since we are not familiar with that area I was hoping someone else who has done the trip from Chicago could help us out. TIA

I have no specific suggestion, but a general one. Go to tripadvisor.com and punch in the city/town you are considering. You can read customer reviews.

Depending on how far south of Atlanta you stay, your final leg of the trip should only be about 6 hours or so.
