Hotel suggestions for Monterey & Solvan

Planning a trip to San Francisco and then driving down to Disneyland. We are going to San Francisco, spend a day and half touring, as my husband and son want to go the Little League game in Livermore. My daughter and I will do Walt Disney Museum. We are going to drive down to Monterey and need a suggestion for a hotel. Then the next day we will visit Hearst Castle and then drive to Solvang to spend the night before heading for Hollywood and Disneyland.

Any hotel recommendations for Monterey and Solvang for a family of four. Thanks.

We love the Monterey Plaza Hotel, ocean view.

Thanks for suggestions. Booked the Portofolo in Monterey, the Monterey Plaza was booked. Hope we can handle not having air conditioning. Tried your suggestion for Solvang, so found a Holiday Inn Express, not as cute as the Solvang Gardens. Just happy to know I have rooms for my family for those nights. Again, thanks for your help and I enjoyed trip Disneyland to San Francisco trip report!
